My Game/Living Room

Post by vash23n »

Let's hope this works this time. Sorry for all the pictures. I finally feel I am at a point where I can call my console collection complete... for now. First thing everyone will probably notice is that it's all Nintendo and Atari... these are the systems I grew up playing and loving. I still remember my parents bringing the Atari 2600 home for the family to play... and once the NES came out I had no interest in anything Sega had to offer. I remember all the battles between me in my friends about who was better - strategy, skill requiring Mario or run around senselessly Sonic. Now that I am 27 years old I can say that I have grown to appreciate Sega and hope to branch out once I build up some savings again. The second thing you will notice is my lack of games. I am not so much a collector as I am a player. I have a serious problem with getting addicted to individual games for months at a time. The only reason I have so many NES and 2600 games is because I bought a bundle of them last month. I mostly wish I had more SNES and N64 games... the SNES is my favorite system and the N64 I never really appreciated until recently. And, yes, I only have 2 Wii games, one having come with the system, but I just got the system this last Christmas.

I definitely want to thank Unleaded Logic and his friend Tony for helping me get a hold of the two Atari systems and all the games. I should thank my wife who has dealt with all these systems cluttering up our living room, but she does play more Mario 64 than I do...

Wonder where I got this idea from...

This is not a console, this is a cat... good shot of one of my switch boxes though. I am still not sure why so many people rely on two outlets and constantly unplug/plug in their consoles. I have the DVD player, Wii, GC and the second switch box hooked up to the first switch box. Press four on the first box and I have access to the N64, SNES, NES, and the Jaguar. You can't see it here, but I have the 2600 plugged into an RF switch box screwed into the wall... it still doesn't fix the fuzzy audio and video...

Sorry some of these are so dark, but the flash on my crappy camera created way too much glare.

Heh. I can't t take credit for the controller pouch idea as I read about it on this site. Definitely love it since controller clutter is something I hate! I need to keep things tidy. That cat is Fry (for Futurama). He is one of four plus a dog so I knew I had to take what shots I could get before too many furry things got in the way. I am a vet tech, which is why I have ended up adopting so many animals - in case anyone was wondering.

Good setup, everything's nice and clean and professional. The coffee table looks like it works very well. "This is not a console, this is a cat..." Haha

Thanks for the kind words. I def need to keep it clean as it is more a living room than a game room, but also because I am obsessed with neatness. The jungle behind the table is enough to drive me mad. I may look into those tubes you can use to organize loose wires. ESP before the place goes up in flames.

The table def works great since it is so damn long.
