Anyone here not a fan of sports?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Anyone here not a fan of sports?

Post by holaback »

When I mean a fan of sports i mean being a fan watching basketball/football etc. and following a certain team.

Sports fan seem to think people who don't care for it are not 'real men' despite many of them not playing sports which does not make alot of sense. I simply never got into it like a 'real man' apparently.

Does pro wrestling count? I like watching TNA wrestling.I do watch the Superbowl almost every year, but that's about it.I never got into team sports I just think it's boring and I have better things to do.At least in wrestling people get slammed into tables and chairs even if its not real.

personally i think there is a sport out there for everyone. maybe you just haven't found which one yet... but that's not the point. sports are about the innate competitive nature of people. there has to some sport or activity that induces this nature in you... maybe yours is video games. the point is even if u don't like the most common sports doesn't mean you don't have any sporting nature in your body or mind. after all sports are just the combination of mental competitiveness with physical activity. you just have to find the ones that mentally stimulate your innate nature.

p.s. don't you enjoy the olympics at all? there is the biggest variety of sports in the world during the Olympics. Plus don't you feel any bit competitive when u see USA going against the other countries in the world?

the only athletic sport I care about is Mexican Wrestling. everything else is trash and is only contributing to the recession we are in, why someone gets paid millions of dollars to hit a ball and run is beyond me.

I don't really follow any sports. I always thought that it was a lot better to play them than to watch them... not to say I play sports much either.

I do like to hang with some friends and shoot some b-ball outside the school. That is, until a couple of guys, who were up to no good... started making trouble in my neighborhood! I got it one little fight and my mom got scared, she said "You movin' with you uncle and auntie in Bel Air!"

... oh wait, got off on a wild tangent there. I really do like to shoot some b-ball outside the school with some friends.

I'll watch a game with friends if it's got some huge significance, namely if it's the final game of the season. Any sport, it doesn't really matter. I dont really enjoy it, but I observe how other people do.

I am one of those sports guys - notice in any of the pics of my arcade cab, or son playing it, my basement is orange with a white stripe - Cleveland Browns.
I love the Browns and Cavs I never miss a game. I am also a fan of the Indians, but since the Baseball season is in the summer and so long that I don't watch as much.
I also played a lot of sports and coach. Next week I begin preseaon for my track team. Its cold in Ohio, but we will be running no matter the weather starting next week.

As for sports making people consider you a real man... that's wack!
Sports are just like any other hobby - fans get to know the teams inside and out and argue who is a better player or team - just like we do with video games. We have the same discussions but instead of teams we talk consoles, instead of players we talk games, and instead of plays we talk genres.

I watch sports, play video games, and collect comics all for similar reasons - entertainment and discussion.

Oh, has anyone seen the lonely island "We Like Sports" video?
