Why is arcade SVC disliked so much?

Post by Pulsar_t »

Well I admit I'm more into Capcom one-on-ones but I do play SNK fighters every now and then. I play SVC on the DS and while it doesn't seem 'broken' there's something definitely off about it. What gives?

I didn't like SVC,it didn't have good animations it looked "dated" like KOF 98'.I prefer/own CVS,which is a almost the same game, but with better animations.

Mainly because I released it for the Arcade officially on MVS cart.

I adore the game and spent my life savings bringing it on to the Arcades in MVS cart format.

Still everyone hates me and the game. So who knows what the hell is wrong with everyone?

I thank god SNK allowed me to work with them to release it officially!

The game plays great!

My impression of the game is that SNK dialed this one in. It doesn't have that loving quality many other SNK fighters have. I think the problem is that SVC Chaos has so many betters. That's the biggest issue.

And wow. neo-geo.com seems to have some crazy unlove for you.

I liked SVC, but it doesnt seem to have as much detail as some of the KOF games, and it does look like it was made in 98', they should have gave it the Garou treatment

I personally really liked SVC. For one thing, that Demitri in SVC looks worlds better that Morrigan does in CVS2. I also liked that SVC choose off-the-wall characters like Mars People and Zero, as opposed to making it like Capcom vs SNK 2, or as I like to call it, Street Fighter vs King of Fighters 2.

The fighting system, while not the most advanced, was still pretty solid. I think a lot of people expected it to have a Groove system a la CVS2. Honestly, considering SNK did the whole Mode idea back with KOF97/98, I don't see why they couldn't have included an ADV/EX/SVC mode select.

But, SVC didn't have the most advanced graphics, and for that, people will always hate it. Remember kids, a game isn't a good game unless it has tons of eye candy!

Funny, I actually like the graphical style quite a lot. It gives the Capcom characters a different look. What I don't like are the savage beatings the game gives me after the first few fights. Then again, all SNK games do that to me.

I didn't like the fight system, It seems too slow paced for the time it came out. The backgrounds seemed like a rush job too, usually games like that are filled with cameos from both companies. I haven't played it in a while but I think that there isn't a single person in any background.

Also, is it just me or are the moves harder to pull off on that particular game? I play KOF decently but I can hardly do anything on SVC and I played both arcade and console versions. Hugo is just impossible to use there, and I can use him in SFIII with no problems.
