NY Comic Con?
NY Comic Con?
Anyone go / going to the NYCC? Went there today and it was pretty cool, and a bit overwhelming! Finally got to see the Ghostbusters game in person (which was playable). It was great to just run around and wreak havoc with the proton pack and trap ghosts... I felt like a kid again. Blazblu was playable at the Aksys booth. The Splatterhouse panel was interesting - sounds like the team really really loves Splatterhouse and horror movies, and made numerous mentions of the arcade, Turbografx, and Genesis versions of the game during the conversation. The Ken Levine (Bioshock) and Todd Howard (Fallout 3) panel was also pretty cool. It was great to see them in person discussing their games and a number of different topics regarding the game industry in general. Prototype looked pretty intriguing - it's a combo of super-powered parkour, GTA (jacking helicopters in midair looked neat), zombies, and tentacles! The Penny Arcade guys were there too. They were hanging out at their booth and signing. I think they have a panel on Saturday. Anyways, a decent video gaming presence.

Re: NY Comic Con?
I never have gone... I have always wanted to.
Seeing comic movies way before they are released in theaters, listening to panels describing what will happen in comics within the next year, and all the free stuff would be great.
The free stuff would be my biggest draw. My office/comic book room is decorated with other comic con posters and such that I got off ebay... I just wish I could go myself.
So, if you want to hook someone up with all the free swag they give out that you don't want - there is always room in my office for more comic paraphernalia.
Oh, and I'm real jealous that I am not there.

Re: NY Comic Con?
Just got back from 3 days there and there was an unbelievable amount of free stuff at the show. Here are some of the game-related swag I got:
Case insert for the upcoming Sega game Madworld - autographed by Atsushi Inaba (Producer) and Shigenori Nishikawa (Game Designer)! Once I buy the game, I just have to replace the case insert and voila, autographed copy!
Close up of the insert:
Madworld t-shirt also autographed by Atsushi Inaba and Shigenori Nishikawa.

My buddy Adny went to it this year and blew a bunch of money on crap.
