Its very intense, graphics are pretty top notch and the atmosphere is chilling. I played the RE4 first on the Gamecube, I loved it, but then i played the Wii version and the control was (i know i am going to get hazed by this) incredible! RE5 plays great but its taking me a while to get used to the old controls again for the over the shoulder view.
What are you guy's opinon of the demo?

Re: Just played the Resident evil 5 demo.....
I'm personally dissapointed - Ive had it since the leak of the JAP one before Xmas, and I really dont like the forced co-op with AI crap - I would far prefer to be playing on my own...
having said that I still enjoyed it a good bit, just not nearly as much as the first time I played Resi4
another thing which I noticed btw is the 360 = 1080p and the PS3 = 720p, and also dont listen to any crap from PS3 fanboys saying that the 360 version is upscaled from 720p either - thats total bull - the internal resolution is definitely way higher - this can easily be seen by looking at for example the netting texture on your character's back - I had the two of them running concurrently and was flicking between the two, the differences were obvious. It is maybe possible that the 360 is upscaled from that WGA or wotever its called resolution (the 1366 one), but whatever it is - its a lot higher quality than the PS3 version.
The only benefit to the PS3 version is that theres less horizontal screen tearing, in fact theres none I could see, Capcom seem to have this problem on the 360 for some reason, Dead Rising does the same for me, however as someone who played Quake3 for literally years with no vSync, I dont really mind the tearing that much :p

Re: Just played the Resident evil 5 demo.....
I thought it was really cool, plays better than RE4, i dont like the forced co-op either but, but sheva did help me a few times with ammo and taking out some enemies. strafing is a plus, it really works when taking corners so i make sure to shoot anything around the bend. the first level on the demo gave me the sense of panic when i was being surrounded by 100 different enemeys climbing walls and jumping roof tops just to kill me! and the 2nd levels chainsaw guy took me forever to kill
Re: Just played the Resident evil 5 demo.....
I loved everything about it. The forced co-op and all. I really enjoy playing games with other people, and this is no exception. I played a few rounds with a guy i occasionally play TF2 with and had a blast. Even did local co-op with a buddy of mine. Even though we got mopped up pretty easily i still loved it.
I just wish i didn't have to give all of my ammo from a slot to the other player. Thats my only gripe. I pre-ordered the collectors edition of this sucka and actually went out and got resident evil 1 and 2 for the gamecube because i'm all jazzed up on it.

I can't wait until my game room is done so I can download this.
Re: Just played the Resident evil 5 demo.....
I'll probably rent it at some point, i'm just disapointed in the series more action orientated direction - also, I feel that if they are going for action gameplay rather than typical survival horror, then Capcom should provide a control scheme to suit. I just felt like I was fighting the controls and the horrible AI partner all through the demo.
Re: Just played the Resident evil 5 demo.....
I'm completely different. I like the new direction and the other games frustrated me. Plus- i don't think the control scheme they have now isn't SO bad. It still gives you a bit of panic when you are getting swarmed because you can move and shoot, but gives you a little more freedom then the other games.Bootaaay wrote:I'll probably rent it at some point, i'm just disapointed in the series more action orientated direction - also, I feel that if they are going for action gameplay rather than typical survival horror, then Capcom should provide a control scheme to suit. Like i said before- i did just pick up the first 2 for gamecube. I had zero for a long long time. Every time i play it i get a little further, but always eventually get bored. Like metal gear, I love the franchise but can't seem to play the game the way they should be played.
