I just don't understand how this keeps happening. I mean....the sheer number of risks and barriers that I THINK an online pedophile has to get through to even reach this goal. I don't know how they ever succeed. Yes I realize he's caught, but you gatta believe that this happens much more often without them being arrested, as is the case with most crimes.

I mean for one; you have the parents. Come the fuck on. Parents have GOT to notice their kids chatting online to people like this (especially with voice chat on XBLA). If not, they have to notice their kid getting a fucking cellphone by mail from a stranger. I mean what, does the kid have a PO box somehow? Further, you gatta notice the kid USING the phone at home! And of course, you have to notice the kid just disappearing to go fuck this guy. If you aren't making an effort to at least read the chat logs and monitor what your kids do on the internet, you fail as I parent. I don't care if you aren't tech savy. BECOME TECH SAVY! It wouldn't kill you to become a part of your kid's world anyway. If you can't do that, you should have aborted.

Then you got the stupid girls and boys that become victims in the first place. I don't understand it. In this age, you would think that the very first safety rule parents would teach to their kids is all that stranger danger shit. I figured it would just be engraved in their minds at a very young age, but we just constantly see shit like this happening. I mean my parents didn't teach me much, but when I was like 10 and riding my bike, someone in a van tried to call me over. I knew to ride home, tell my mom, we called the cops, and I gave a description.

Of course maybe they have no fear, see no risk, and are for some reason honestly attracted to these consistently creepy and ugly late 20 individuals. In that case, I just don't know what to say. It's so fucked up. I think the gene pool in this country is at an all time low or something.

Then of course you got the predators themselves. I can't imagine what kind of state of mind you have to be in to put your entire life at risk because you have some raging bone for jailbait ass. Hell, sometimes it's not even that, because it's like 10 and 12 years olds they're after. I just cant fathom it. I mean, they have to see the flaws to their plans. They have to know the risks. They have to know there's ways to seek treatment, instead of throwing that chance away to just ruin your life. I don't know what makes them think they can execute such a fucked up plan.

I just can't wrap my head around it all. I'm not rage ranting or anything. I'm calm. I'm just analyzing human stupidity like I often find myself doing. I have a feeling I know less about this than the average person would, since I've never had the kind of crazy monkey sex drive that gets you into a tight situation like a lot of my friends have. I just cant relate.

I'm amazed at the father's reaction- he KNEW the guy was there talking to her, but he shrugged it off as "harmless" just because the freak was in a different state. My sister lets her 7 year old kid play on Live and he's usually playing Grand Theft Auto 4.

She called me up once telling me that she had to block the cartoon network because all the cartoons on adult swim swear and he was repeating everything they were saying. She was shocked that they would let something like that air on cartoon network.

Well this whole teen girls meeting older men online problem is never going to end. This whole thing with older guys and young females begin sexually attracted them has been around for thousands of years. The digital has just made young females more accessible to older men via the internet and these men seem to ignore or are too blinded by their attraction to realize how easy it is to be tracked on online. Is the risk of going to jail and begin forced to register as a sex offender really worth it to have sex with a minor female? the answer in a logical person mind would be no.

some parents are lazy and some times don't care what their children do.
A parent that is indifferent in their child's life are usually unaware of what possible psychological effect that can result in not paying attention/love/interest to their kids.

And then the parents. I mean you can't monitor who they are talking to every second on xbox live. But still..... when this girl gets calls from this person and knowing how old he is..... I'd stop that shit right away. People that much older usually don't have the best intentions in mind.

Now I meet my gf over the internet and she lives an hour away. But at least her parents had the smarts to make sure I'm not sexual predator when I went to meet them. As in they demanded to meet me before she went anywhere with me which i appreciate and thought was smart and fair.


Really this is just proof of devolution in all 3 parts of this story.
