Arcade VF2 (that includes v2.1) is now playable on PC thanks to ElSemi's Model 2 emulator. There's been problems with TGP emulation for ages (I guess it's some sort of funky undocumented DSP) but it's at a stage now where VF2 can be considered playable (with some lingering glitches of course!)
The old PC port was an 'enhanced' port of the Saturn port which was a watered down (yet impressive) port of the arcade original (v2.1 without most of the features for the Saturn, yet they managed to incorporate into in the PC version―Shun Di's stage was missing parallax in both ports however).. but I think it required a beefy Pentium at the time to run at its intended speed. Sega Ages 2500 also had an entry for VF2 but it ran at a decidedly lower resolution to accomodate the PS2's ancient architecture.

I actually have the PC port. Picked it up from a bookstore up at Tangier outlet. The sticker price was $10, but they were having a half-off sale and I got it for $5.

That's pretty cool. While VF1 was my intro to 3D fighting, VF2 and Fighter's Megamix were the games that I had the most fun with.

See, this is something that I'd think was really cool (and it is!), play around with for five minutes then go straight back to VF5 on my 360. The game has just evolved too much for me to play for anything beyond the nostalgia factor.
