Funk, E wrote:That's a pretty fallacious argument you've got there. By that logic, everyone should be totally cool with standing perfectly still all the time, because if they do anything else it's because they're not satisfied with their life. It's an EXTRAORDINARILY presumptuous mindset to take. Wow.
I don't say that. Don't get me wrong. As a human you are bound to fullfill the needs of your body and soul. So we are not born as blank pages. The point i was trying to make is that there is a reason behind anything you do, and doing drugs always has a certain dissatisfaction to fullfill.

Why is that dissatisfaction limited to drugs, though? I mean, you could eat a nice pizza out of dissatisfaction, or drink a beer or two, or really ANYthing that is a good time. Your argument doesn't stand up and again--it's insultingly presumptuous.

Exactly... I never said you had to have music at a dinner party, or you had to have a beer. And as you said you wouldn't ride the jet ski out of personal taste.
That's what it is... personal taste. Some people happen to consider these things pleasurable.
Why is a couple beers ok, a small moderate dose. But not a small moderate dose of marijuana? It's the same basic idea. I wasn't talking about people who do large doses of drugs out of dependency. I'm not talking about the guy who snorts an 8 balls because his body tells him he "needs" it. I'm talking about the guy who smokes a joint with a friend, or drinks a six pack at a picnic. These people are perfectly fine in the head and CAN be doing this for pleasure and fun.
I want to see proof that 100% of drug use is always rooted in some form of dissatisfaction in ones life.

When did i ever say that a small moderate dose of marijuana wasn't ok?
Folks you need to understand that i don't say drugs are bad. As i stated everyone should do as he/she likes, i'm fine with that. I don't say those people have mental disorder or anthing. The only point i'm making is that it's not "just for fun".

Well look at it like this: You are already addicted to air, food and human relationship.

What!?
Man, I just can't kick this oxygen habit. Got any pointers? Maybe a plastic bag.

Funny that you mention the plastic bag, because people gag themselves in order to get high on oxygen.

Do you not understand what i'm saying or do you think that i am wrong?

I'm amazed that you're not seeing the logical fallacy--or at least the complete irrelevance--of your argument, that's all.
Also, choking yourself doesn't get you high on oxygen, it just DEPRIVES you of it and makes you lightheaded.

Well please point out the logical fallacy then.
As far as i know the "high" feeling kicks in after the choking so i guess the oxygen is the trigger (just guessing though).

Um...no, not really. Please, man, just..do some basic research on things before spouting?
And I already pointed out the problem with your argument--it could be applied to anything that anyone does that provides a pleasant sensation, not drugs in particular, so it's irrelevant.
