^ This. Mario 3D Land is the best example of this. Everyone dumps on the game for being too easy, so much that it has that that reputation is now ubiquitous with the title. At least among everyone who put the game down after beating Bowser, that is.Sarge wrote:Oh, man, that last normal level was just brutal. I'm not even going to describe what it took to make it through that. Oh, yeah, Mario games are "easy". Sure. Until they take the gloves off and punch you in the face.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

So these hard levels are the "bonus" ones I take it? New Super Mario Bros. Wii had some brutal ones. I 100%'ed that game and it was not easy.

You should be playing it right now. Forget your retro backlog!BoneSnapDeez wrote:I have a huge retro backlog I'd like to pick away at, but I will hopefully get to 3D World this year. Got it for XMas and it looks amazing.

I keep buying things i'll "eventually" play. I really need to get this last week. I want to play so badly but I don't think price is coming down...maybe ever.

This is why I asked for it as a Christmas gift. The thought of paying $60 makes me cringe.mjmjr25 wrote:I keep buying things i'll "eventually" play. I really need to get this last week. I want to play so badly but I don't think price is coming down...maybe ever.
It will be played soon!

Re: Super Mario 3D World
This game is phenomenal, but good luck 100%-ing it as the stamps you can collect can be horrifically time extensive. I learned a trick or two on how to eliminate some of the grind, but it is still a grind none the less.
This game is also a delight to play with a second person. At times it may seem like a hindrance, but at other times, it is an enormous benefit to have an extra person on board to take down the challenges. My wife and I played through the game completely together and loved every second of it. I can not stress enough just how awesome this game was. There are little tricks that you can discover long after playing that open up some cool new possibilities for you in other similar levels. There is a lot of depth there and it is worth the time to get to know that depth.

I started this game last night and was pulling crazy stunts through the first world. Unless some bonus levels that are harder that Luigi's Purple Coins, I am going to crush this game.

Oh you just wait.....you...just....wait. Things may go easily enough, but at certain point things take a turn for the hard, but fun. It will challenge, but not infuriate, which is exactly what Tropical Freeze did. This is seriously some of the best platforming for this generation.prfsnl_gmr wrote:I started this game last night and was pulling crazy stunts through the first world. This enthusiasm, this lust for life and zeal for excitement. Never lose this. Never stop being who you are. Never play any levels after the normal game ends.prfsnl_gmr wrote:I started this game last night and was pulling crazy stunts through the first world.
