Re: Doctor Who Talk
So is Clara out of the show? Didn't read any rumors online about a new companion and yet we knew about Clara before series 7 even started.

Re: Doctor Who Talk
There is a rumour she is leaving but I attribute that more to wishful thinking on the fans part than anything concrete. It would be kind of annoying if she left now, there are a few loose threads with regards her story. Course that never stopped a Who companion leaving before so...dunno.ZeroAX wrote:So is Clara out of the show? Re: Doctor Who Talk
This season made me wish she leaves too, but again it's more the fault of the bad writing than the actress or what we knew of the character before.Sload Soap wrote: There is a rumour she is leaving but I attribute that more to wishful thinking on the fans part than anything concrete. Anyway, this is by far the most disappointing season since Moffat took over. I can only say I only really liked the episode listen.....and doesn't Danny Pink's death contradict the future that episode showed? Oh well, if she's not gone you can bet we'll spend the next series on a quest to get her boyfriend back. I mean Rose crossed dimensions (which the Doctor with his alien technolodgy couldn't do), and Rory somehow came back from being erased from time, so I guess back from the dead isn't out of the question after all.

Re: Doctor Who Talk
The theory is that Clara is already pregnant so it is possible for future Pink to exist. "Three months" was written on a post-it note at the beginning of Dark Water.
Anyway, I finished up City of Death this evening and bugger me is it a good story. Always interesting, always amusing and has all a bunch of great high concept ideas while having a coherent narrative. After the power of love beat back the baddie for the umpteenth time in Nu-Who it was nice to have a bad guys plot undone by a simple punch in the face. A punch in the face 400 million years ago but still. Something tangible.

Never watched old who. It's not the poor effects I mind, it's the old style acting. Though from what I've seen online from fan analysis the old school stuff has some really interesting stories when it comes to world building.

Re: Doctor Who Talk
Honestly, I've only really got back into Classic Who quite recently and even then I dip into what are considered the better story lines. It's a completely different show in many ways being more a serial than a monster of the week job. Shame I have to bust out Netflix US to watch them. I guess the Beeb really wants me to those DVDs.

That is such a great serial.
I haven't watched any of the new series yet, but the "power of love" stuff is offputting.

I think a Count Scarlioni costume is going to be my new go to costume. Sharp suit and cyclopean squid head. Great combo.
