If the past entries weren't garbage i could agree.
The past entries were balanced with little to no pacing issues, had no performance issues, and didn't introduce a game play mechanic that can be seen as a crutch to lean on as the access to said mechanic is easy.
The past entries didn't have a game breaking save glitch either. Within the first 2 hours I had three starters from three different generations, one having that mega stone and got boosted experience points. I see that as a crutch next to the mega ring itself.
Access to the GTS (or what ever it's called) with a search function allows you to get Pokemon that you haven't seen yet. Takes the fun out of discovery for me at least. Then the random trade thing: on the third hour of play I got a Beldom, a late-game/post-game Pokemon.
This is the first game where I had to sit there and grind too and I can't pinpoint exactly where levels started to jump for the opposition. Had to do that Battle Chateau nonsense a few times because the game decided to throw a bunch of trainers with hard hitting fighting Pokemon in a cave. Pacing.
Hey Damm64 everyone is entitled to an opinion I'm not calling you out or anything. I should have actually backed up my own opinion about X & Y hence this post. But I am curious in knowing what you didn't like in past entries. Not one game from the series is perfect but some are stronger than others.
