Duke Nukem Forever dismantled by Eurogamer. 3/10, ouch.

I agree, those old shots were awesome. Even being able to play one level of an old build would have great, just to experience it.

As for the platforming, I loved it and never had a problem. The Duke Burger thing was really exciting. Those bouncy flower things, you know where they're gonna send you and that its safe, but when you're so high up its still a rush. That whole stage, especially when you fight off the dropship on that little platform, and then the encounter with the jetpack alien at the end, all just really cool stuff.

Speaking of Duke Burger, I also liked the trek through the kitchen. That was a cool bit.

"haha" indeed.

I picked up DNF yesterday, and although the graphics are not up to par (okay, some of the graphics look worse than PS2 games) I got what I expected; a Duke Nukem game.

I'm only a few hours in, but the fun factor is why I purchased it and why I enjoy it. A Time to Kill is a better game imho, but DNF is not without laughs. It's just a game that doesn't take itself seriously, and although smoother graphics would have been a welcome change, I actually don't care that much. Sometimes it's nice to be reminded you're just playing a game, and DNF definitely does that.

Well, shit. I just found out about the hive level. So, yeah... some... interesting stuff in that thar level.

And by "interesting" I mean disturbing if that wasn't obvious.

What's a matter, scared of some tentacles?

That stuff was all over DN3D as well in some of the alien levels anyways.

Well he might have been talking about the walltits, if he happened to spot them.

Where as the level on the whole is quite disturbing, the worst part is Duke's very inhuman reaction to the whole ordeal. Also the part with the twins is just... terrible. Here they are in the aftermath of having been mouth-raped by aliens and impregnated and the biggest concern they have is that maybe Duke won't find them attractive anymore if they are fat from being pregnant. And then they explode.

WTF

Cannot help it. Clearly this type of game just isn't for me.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with horrible acts of depravity in video games. Murder, rape, slavery etc, etc...

My problem is with the way the subject matter is treated. To me, those things should be used as plot devices to add depth to the story and a sense of drama. They don't seem like things that should be joked about in the same way as if someone just cut the cheese.
