Which is why I mentioned that the game should be on XBLA. It's easier on the company.msimplay wrote: I disagree it's a good business model to cater to retrogamers brand new games for the Xbox 360 cost about 40 pounds for a brand new game
Why? Making the game widely accessible makes it shit?I personally feel that releasing games on a a service such as Xbox live devalues the game.
If RedSpot games keeps doing this, then there's no problem.Anthony817 wrote: And like I said before, they released Rush Rush Rally Racing on Dreamcast first, then released it on Wii VC. They are releasing games for 360 and Wii, not just Dreamcast.
...
They will continue to release games on the Dreamcast, and also get money for their games on Xbox Live arcade and Wii Virtual console, to fund their company and keep them afloat.

That's a little hyperbolic.GSZX1337 wrote:Why? Making the game widely accessible makes it shit?I personally feel that releasing games on a a service such as Xbox live devalues the game.

Call me cynical, but I think that msimplay is going to say something along the lines of:Beak wrote:That's a little hyperbolic.GSZX1337 wrote:Why? Making the game widely accessible makes it shit?I personally feel that releasing games on a a service such as Xbox live devalues the game.
Having a game on millions of hard drives makes the game less good./

Hell yeah! Always happy to see more DC games released!

I'm sure you guys know about this one but if not:
Here is another DC Shmup (bullet hell shooter) that is being released 12/21/10
it looks really awesome, don't know why people say it looks like crap.. nonsense..
I just wish I could afford the MVS version.. but its $600..

I hate downloadable content, I'd much rather spend my money on something I can hold in my hands and holds value after I purchase it.Weekend_Warrior wrote:Even if it were $5 on XBLA versus $46 on the Dreamcast? I find that to be a tough pill to swallowArbitern1 wrote: The fact that this game is being released on a Dreamcast ensures that i will buy it. If it was on Xbox live arcade I wouldn't ever think about spending the money to buy it.

Personally I'll pay more for a shmup than pretty much any other game genre. Imports, limited editions, cool packaging, etc.
YES. Nothing like finally getting your hands on a pricey title and playing it how it was meant tonoiseredux wrote:exactly how I feel. I have a lot of GBA homebrew releases that I bought because of this.msimplay wrote: There's nothing like having an original hardcopy of a game.
Even if they released a Dreamcast game under emulation like the recent Crazy Taxi on 360 it just doesn't feel the same.
case in point: ggg is working on Holy Hell right now. The screens look absolutely amazing. But once he said he's working on making physical carts, I decided not to download the demo. It's just not the same to me to fire up a ROM as it is to wait and have a physical release in my hand. It's the same reason that I don't play my ROM of Magical Chase for GBC. Waiting until the day that I finally have a physical copy will just feel all the more awesome because of that.

So purrty............. Idk, something tells me that it won't be that fun of a game. But damnit if they don't get an A+ for making the prettiest game on DC in recent memory.

Oh howdy there, a fellow Texan.
What makes you think it won't be a fun game? I think it looks like R-Type and another DC Shmup called Border Down kinda.
These are both very well known games in the genre.

I have to admit those graphics are pretty sick for a Dreamcast game
