This is obviously great news. But I still can't help but think that this release would have made a lot more sense as a XBLA/PSN download game. I mean, c'mon.. developing a new game for a console that's been dead almost ten years? It's nice to support the thriving "DC Scene" and all. But you're not going to see much money from that.

it's not about money. Honestly, these sort of post-mortem releases are why the Dreamcast and the GBA have cult-followings. The systems stay alive long after they were deemed "dead" to mainstream gaming.

I understand. But it's still a broken business model. It's like someone saying "Hey guess what? We're going to make this really cool new movie but we're only going to release it on Laserdisc!" I mean, c'mon.. it's a cool idea and everything. But it's also equally dumb. It reminds me of this rock band I worked with about five years ago. They were pretty good and had a lot of interesting ideas. But when they made a 4 track ep they decided that it would be "cool" to release it only on vinyl. Yeah, well guess what? Everyone at their live shows just rolled their eyes and asked if there were cd's available. Is that band still around today? No, they are not.
