Seriously. Screw you Shao Kahn I'm gonna play Animal Crossing.
Yep, incredibly high standards, I was right. Superhero movies aren't supposed to be Gone With the Wind. They're superhero movies. They're made from magazines that cost $3-$5 a piece and features guys in tights and masks having fistfights.BurningDoom wrote: Yes. Spider-Man is awful. The movie is so cheesy, but isn't meant to be. It's like watching a fan made film on a really strict budget. I'm not complaining, just stating the obvious.
I'm a huge fan of the genre, but dude, seriously: You liked THE GREEN LANTERN, which is easily the worst movie of the year. And I'm not talking about Hollywood releases, I'm including indie films as well. It's hard to take anything you post seriously after stating that it was a good movie. I'd rather watch the Oprah interview with that woman who had her face eaten off by an ape than watch GL again. I'm also pretty sure you liked Marvel Presents X-Men:Wolverine Origins and His Past Stories Including Wolverine Wearing Boxing Gloves, so as I stated before, not complaining, I just think you'll like whatever you like just because some of your childhood make believe heroes are in the films.
Sure you're entitled to your opinion, as I like some goofy shit as well, but you like, honesty like these films. Not for how bad they are, you actually like them.
Maybe you and I should just stick to talking about video games, because in all honesty, I can't see we could see eye to eye on movies. Maybe we can both agree that SPAWN was terrible?
Heh, well I'm just dogging on Spider-man but I still love the old Batman movies, even Returns probably which I need to rewatch someday. Plus, you just can't beat Danny Elfman's score to it... damn good stuff.Gamerforlife wrote:I know I'm in Bizarro World when classics like Spider-Man and Batman are being bashed while Punisher movies are being praised

If Batman is considered low-standards, then I count me in as having low standards. Because that was comic book movie gold as far as I'm concerned.AppleQueso wrote:...or maybe your standards are incredibly low?BurningDoom wrote: Yep, incredibly high standards, I was right.
Batman maybe not, but X-Men Origins yes.BurningDoom wrote:If Batman is considered low-standards, then I count me in as having low standards. Where was X-Men Origins mentioned?BurningDoom wrote: Batman maybe not, but X-Men Origins yes.
I don't have incredibly high standards, I just don't like movies that 10 years after their release look like garbage. And you didn't say you loved GL, you said it was good. It's not. It's tripe. And I'm glad superhero movies aren't like Gone With the Wind, as that movie puts me to sleep. However, I do expect an actual movie with character development, exposition, acts, and most of all a decent plot. Spider-Man has these, it just doesn't do it well.BurningDoom wrote: Yep, incredibly high standards, I was right.
Seriously, you didn't like Batman? How could you not like that movie?
And Spawn was good.
Also, what was wrong with Wolverine: Origins?
