It's probably just me, but I am really not feeling the game. Not that it is not good, but maybe my tastes have changed. Pokemon X & Y feel like more of the same. While there are some improvements and I love the shift in graphics, I am having a hard time getting into the usual gameplay.

With battle animations on the battles are way too slow. With them off I'd still like a skip button. Would also be nice to see them do away with random battles.

Even with all the changes I just get that feeling of 'I've played this many times before'. And while it is not a bad feeling since Pokemon has a very solid formula, I think I may just be Pokemon'd out. Getting too old maybe..

Why do they still use the 8 bit sounds for the pokemon cries? Why is Pikachu the only one that uses the voice from the tv show? When I evolved him to Raichu it went back to the classic cry :(

I haven't played a pokemon game since red and blue when I was in elemantary school. I'm sure it's all the same ol same ol but I think I'll get it for the nostagia value. Plus I had a blast playing them back in the day so I think I'll still thoroughly enjoy it now. Being that I still love pokemon and the whole concept. What a good idea.

I spend a couple of hours training last night, after reading up on EV's and what they do, and some trial and error, I finally understand! I didn't think I would be into the EV training as much as I am, but I cant wait to get back to it.

I just got into this game, and the Pokemon series in general last week. I played a bit of FireRed many years ago, but quit in the first cave after being swarmed by nonstop Zubats. This time, I am having far more fun than I expected. I actually bought copies of X and Y months ago, but was waiting until summer so my daughter would have plenty of time to play alongside of me. She has her own 3DS and the copy of X.

My in game time is probably around 20 hours, but I don't seem to be very far into the game. I am working my way through route eight. I spend a lot of time training up new Pokemon that I find. I have maybe 15 different ones all around level 17-18. I enabled exp share during route seven, but it felt so weird to have Pokemon that I didn't touch gaining levels. I vastly prefer to just have them level by fighting. If I catch a new one that is really low level, I just throw them in the day care for a bit.

There still seems to be a lot about this game that is unknown to me, but I'm leaving it that way and just exploring the game.

I felt it was a little weaker than past entries. I have some nitpicking things that bothered me that, altogether, hurt the overall package.
