The Minecraft Experiment: Day 1
http://www.pcgamer.com/2010/11/20/the-m ... aterfalls/

This is the first log of an ongoing feature at PC Gamer where the author writes and shares his ongoing diary in the world of Minecraft while following a rule that if he dies, he has to delete the world and start a new one. If you are into Minecraft, it's wonderful fun to read.

I played Minecraft Classic tonight. I had fun. :D

I built a castle! It's 10x10. The moat is eight blocks away on each side and two blocks deep. The entrance is in the bushes on the far right.

The entrance. It goes all the way to the back side of the castle.

From the top of the upside-down V. The other dudes on the server (including my friend) built what I dubbed the "Stairway to Heaven". Yes, that is a water elevator, and you can't see it, but there is a pool of lava at the bottom.

Then I decided right before I left to build a two block tall brick wall around the moat.

So I pirated the game, to see if I'd like the single player, and I loved it and today I bought the game to try out the multiplayer aspect, and I have to say I'm underwhelmed. Yeah it's cool looking at other people's work, but I'm not allowed to build anything in them. Not even a small house in a small patch of unbuilt land. Oh well, I'll run my own server and have a friend of mine join and we'll build stuff together. Still worth the 15€ to support the guy though. Great game.

Dude, get on dlmvii's server, you can do whatever. You don't have to be brought down by the man! :)
