If so, why even buy the Wii U Pro Controller? They seem to have the same amount of buttons.

I think we're gonna see support for Wii controllers breakdown like the Gamecube controller. It will be heavily supported at first, then as time goes on will all but lose total support. I doubt you'll be able to get away with using a Wii Classic Controller Pro

Presumably, yes, since the Wii U is backwards compatible to the Wii and according to Nintendo "can use all Wii peripherals".

Some reasons you might want the Wii U CCP instead, that I can think of...

- The analog sticks on the Wii U version have a button in them, like Dual Shock and 360 analog sticks. The CC/CCP do not.

- The Wii U version is a self-contained controller, not an accessory to plug into a Wiimote. Presumably, it will also be able to charge batteries or use a battery pack (USB port on top).

- The layout matches the Wii U's controller better, if become more accustomed to that.

This has been confirmed since the WiiU was announced. The system can't stream to more than one Gamepad at a time, so all other players need another type of controller.

So the Controllers handle this and just if you don't want to use the full gamepad I guess. The WiiMotes are still used because some games will still have full motion controls and the WiiU plays Wii games.

I thought they backed off of that statement, saying it might be possible to have two tablet controllers working at the same time. I seem to remember reading a bunch of conflicting information after E3.

It's been confirmed that the Wii U can handle two Wii U Gamepads simultaneously.

That plus 4 Wii Remotes means that Nintendo's finally allowed for 6 controllers. It only took, what, 20 years since the 5-player multitap.

The Saturn Multitap is a six controller tap, therefore allowing seven players with one tap. Also Bomberman Blitz on the Wii was 8 player - four wiimote, four cube controller.

Would that mean there is a way to play more than 4p games on the Wii via emulator? I mean, if it can recognize those as seperate inputs, could I not play TG16 bomberman 5p?

I was just making a joke, and Saturn isn't Nintendo anyways XD
