I'm glad the show decided to change plenty of things :/.

For one thing since 1-1 adaptions are very hard to do, and when done they just don't work anyway, I prefer it when the adaption becomes its own thing (yes I'm one of those people who loved the plot twist of Ironman 3  ).

Also if we followed the comics we wouldn't have Daryl, and that entire Shane business was done muuuuuch better in the TV show imo. Mind you I haven't read the entire comic, so I don't know if later on there are some things that the show got wrong, but from the little I read the show was just much more to my liking.

Someone can like both/either/neither of course :)

I'm surprised that there are people who want the show to be the comic, verbatim. What would be the fun in that?

It is awesome when a shot is straight from the comic, as a bit of an homage, but frame for frame gets super boring.

I like both, but I feel the comic is better. The pacing in the show is poor at times, often dragging things on. I also think they write or have written characters to act as plot devices instead of behaving believably or like their character should.

I think the comic shows the depths of depravity a bit more. They also explore the interpersonal and romantic relationships more or better.

I would rather it stick close to the source like GoT, or be set in the same world but with different characters/locale. The Walking Dead game does this well. They still couldve done homage to the comics with similar events unfolding or cameo encounters.

The problem with same characters is that you have the expectation or canonical behavior that the characters are supposed to be or do, and when the show deviates, it can be jarring.

JMustang's got it. It either has to be as direct as possible or completely separate from the source material. For example, comic Carol and show Carol are so totally different... I don't even know why those chose to give them the same name.

I do believe the comic handled Shane better. Drug out way to long on the show.

My main issue with the show is a lot of the in depth plot seems to be determined based on business decisions. Who stays, who goes, how long we stay in a location, etc.

To all the writer's credit, they make it work pretty well. But there's plenty of downtime in this show and it feels like we're still revolving around issues they already made their minds up about several seasons back.

I think the comic deals with characterization a little better, the characters are who they are. In the show they kind of feel like they're indecisive and in a lot of the reactions it starts to feel a little like tropes of the genre than something actually meaningful.

I think the show is good, but I don't think the characters are as strong as they should be.

In terms of the overarching plot, the show is a little more straight forward. It's kind of like the "greatest hits" of the comic in a way. It was nice to see that this season wasn't spent entirely, or even mostly, on Terminus, which I think most people expected. I assume they didn't have to build those sets, like with the prison. That's probably why.

The comics had a "hunter" storyline, but no Terminus.

Not thrilled about the group separating, again, but we all saw it coming.

Really hope the show continues at this pace, and that we also start seeing more of Carol and Darryl.
yeah i agree, great season so far but can someone explain to me why the group broke up after they all SPECIFICALLY agreed that they would never separate?

that is EXACTLY why they end up in these positions. If bob would have stayed his black ass in the church he wouldn't be sitting there with one leg watching people eat him.

Every time this group breaks off, this shit happens. when will they effing LEARN? It is getting short of stupid now.
