I'm still waiting for Call of Burger: Fast Food Warfare, a next-gen first person shooter where you shoot Big Macs at your enemies to kill them with instant heart attacks and complications from diabetes.
I would totally play this, if only to witness grim-dark versions of Grimace and Hamburglar. ... Ronald is already grim enough as is.

So is the Hamburglar (a/k/a the Hammurderer):
The Onion wrote:The Hammurderer's Jan. 11 debut ad—in which he seizes and devours the McDonald's Happy Meal Guys, oblivious to their frantic screams—earned poor marks from parents and child-development experts, who feared the spot might send the message to children that killing is acceptable. Several weeks later, more controversy erupted over the promotional coloring book "Shivved In The McRibs," in which the Hammurderer decapitates Mayor McCheese and eats his head.
(This is one of my favorite Onion articles, BTW. I have a strange sense of humor, and it always makes me laugh.)

I counter the Hammurder with the real reason the Grimace was invented:

I know we're off topic, but this has always stuck in my mind as my personal favorite Onion story: http://www.theonion.com/article/friend- ... -that-1709
"I told him, 'Hey, man, you just bought a damn computer,'" Cheng said. "He just looked at me like, 'Yeah, I know.' I love the guy, but, I have to say, he didn't really seem to understand what it was that he'd done."

That is funny stuff there. :)

So, more happy gaming? More happy gaming. I may have already told this story, but heck, might as well roll with it again. The family had gone by one of our usual stops, the Salvation Army Thrift Store. Of course, I poked around, and while I always kept poking around for other stuff like books and such, I was always mostly looking for video game stuff. Well, I didn't turn anything up, and the parents were checking out, and I was about to head out to the vehicle. I turn back, and notice something on one of the shelves clear across the store (it's a big one) that looked distinctly like the Sega Master System grid pattern. I turned around to check it out...

...to find a complete, in-box SMS with Shinobi. Well, not quite complete, it was actually missing the correct power supply, instead having a Model 2 Genesis PSU. How much did this incredible find set me back? Eight dollars. Needless to say, I was ecstatic. I still have the $8 decal on the system. :)

Gunstar Green wrote: Nah I get you totally because that's exactly where I was in regards to Star Citizen. I let the reddit convince me that it would be better to hop in then than to have to pay $60 for the standalone version of Squadron 42 when it comes out plus I'd have access to Star Citizen stuff. I haven't really monkeyed around much with the alpha modules but they are impressive to say the least.

Having seen some of the mo-cap stuff and interviews with the actors I'm pretty confident Squadron 42 will at least be worth it and have that classic cinematic feeling even if the rest of Star Citizen ends up crashing and burning under the weight of its feature bloat.
I have to say the same, we're thinking it alright. I don't see 42 failing at all, but the rest is problematic to say the least as you can only drag out vague promises, so called alphas to come, and hardly functional things to drool at before people call for blood. As if there isn't enough already calling Roberts and his behavior towards the project and his employees online. I would not be surprised if the MMO-ish thing implodes and perhaps the FPS makes it because those are the trendy things to cash in on. I forgot the game itself was going to be $60, 50% off isn't so bad, but if it's likely to be on GoG/Steam a 50% off sale wouldn't be out of the question like 2 seasonal sales after it arrives if not the third. :)

well, I posted this in the Pics thread a couple years ago, but seems fitting in this thread:

Old pictures of kids getting classic consoles and looking crazy happy always make me smile.

I've got a picture of me when I received Shadowgate for NES, also a picture of me when I received my first NES console. Maybe I'll dig those out of the closet and post them here to embarrass myself.

Happy gaming thought... I found out today there are a fair more mech games on PS1 than I thought there were. Iron Soldier 3, Krazy Ivan, Space Griffon VF-9... even a decent port of Mechwarrior 2. I'm excited to give these games (and others) a try. Might as well, since I'm already planning on playing King's Field III TONIGHT YEEEAHHHHH. Time for some OG PlayStation lovin' up in the dorkcave.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
