Why should you buy the PS4?

Screw the next gen. The PS4, the Xbox One and the Wii U are all cr*p in my book.

I feel consoles have really gone downhill after the GC and PS2 era (not including the Xbox because I hate it). They try out all these new ideas which flop hard...motion controls...really? And that goes for all the consoles because while Nintendo focused on it, the others tried to put out stupid add-ons that sort of did the same thing.

I was talking to another gamer at a yard sale today and we both agreed that the consoles are not long for this world. I mean look at the price of the PS4 and Xbox One...you could get an ok laptop for that much. And if your short on cash...like many of us are these days, would you rather have a game system that does a few things or a laptop which does many things and can also be used for work/school?

I'll stick to my RETRO consoles and PC thank you very much.

I dont get how a retro gamer can hate the current gen, but love the PS2 era. People do realize that there is actually a retro Renaissance in today's modern video game community both on an indie level and mainstream one, as opposed to the 5th and 6th gens where 2D was almost entirely neglected or overlooked as insignificant.

If anything it is a sheep mentality not to dig with an open mind, and to just go with the easy opinion of "today's stuff sucks".

I am personally starting to see the 'age' in games that are supposed to be ageless in the 16 bit era, and it's largely due to 2D games that are being released now. That's something the 5th gen and 6th gen never did since not enough developers cared to venture into the 2D genres.

But hey, shoot yourself.
