I never believed to be on of "those" people but after finding out I had $00.00 monthly payments for 6 months on my card and 90 days return on electronics. I bought the ps3 for Metal Gear Solid 4, beat it, then returned the ps3 for a refund. Of course I was stuck with MGS4 and couldn't return that, but $60 wasn't too bad and knew I'm gonna buy a ps3 eventually [which I still haven't] so no harm done.

That reminds me, I bought my SNES for Super Metroid alone basically.
But... haven't actually gotten to play (edit: it that much) yet.

Then discover Link to the Past, Final Fantasy IV, V, & VI, Secret of Mana, Contra III, Super Castlevania IV, Donkey Kong Country, Mega Man X, and Demon's Crest.

Does it count if there was more than one game I wanted for a system, but it was one specific game that convinced me to buy the system?
If yes, then the PSP I bought recently (Still in the mail in fact) was bought mostly for Final Fantasy IV Complete. There are definitely plenty of other good games on the system, but that's the one that really pushed me to get it. It looks stunningly beautiful and from what I hear the story is damn good for a game released in 1991 (No, I haven't played it yet, sue me :p).

Just bought a DSi XL for Valkyrie Profile. I'm sure I'll get more out of it than that.
I'm sure Tri-Ace will announce a new one for 3DS now that I bought it.

How funny, those are the only games that I own for my Wii! I think the games I chose basically grew out of a Sega Saturn obsession or something. I plan on grabbing Super Mario Galaxy and Xenoblade Chronicles... outside of that, the system is totally on the backburner for me.
The only games I have for my Nintendo 64 are Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, and Sin & Punishment. I have people coming over and asking if I have Mario Kart or Super Smash Bros. all the time... my responses to those questions have probably lost me a couple of friends. I might grab F-Zero X, Mischief Makers, and Kirby: The Crystal Shards, but outside of that, the N64 library has just never spoken to me that much.
Panzer Dragoon Orta, Jet Set Radio Future, OutRun 2006, The House of the Dead 3, Otogi 2, Fatal Frame II, Silent Hill 2, and Breakdown are the only Xbox games I'll probably ever own. I've said it before, but despite being such a big success, the console has just never had much merit at all in my eyes
If I ever got a 32X, I would probably just grab Virtua Fighter, Virtua Racing, Knuckles Chaotix, and maybe Space Harrier and call it a day.

It usually had the best versions of multiplatform games and it could handle PC games the PS2/GC couldn't like Thief: Deadly Shadows, Arx Fatalis, Doom 3, Half Life 2, Morrowind, Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
It does have some exclusives like Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, Blinx and Mad Dash Racing
