And I ignored the really niche but awesome nintendo series like Sin and Punishment.

I think we need to educate someone on the awesomeness of classic 2D gaming on modern consoles. ;)

Yeah, that's what's baffling me about this thread. There are so many bad consoles out there, why anyone would pick XBOX or Wii or N64 is far beyond me. Who enjoyed the CD-i or 3DO that much?

My favorite is the SNES. For least favorites, take your pick out of the many terrible consoles out there.

Having played the virtual boy, 3DO and SMS I don't think any of them are that bad either. In fact, I love the master system and virtual boy, and I like the hardware of the 3DO, even if its not exactly top of the awesome games list. I also happen to be a big fan of the pokemon mini, despite it only having 10 games, 5 of which weren't released in Europe.

Having not played the Jaguar, I can't talk about that one, but it doesn't look great.
There's no defending the CD-i though, that thing is atrocious.

Sure there were good titles that came out for the Wii. I don't like playing GC games on my Wii because I have a GBA player on my GC, I also have a portable screen that attaches to it, and a battery pack. I played my Wii a bunch until I upgraded to an HD TV. Around the same time I got a PS3 and Battlefield Bad Company. I'm a huge BF fan so my Wii seemed less interesting to me. I just never played it enough to get attached to it.

It's about the games, not the system. ;)

I can't say I have ever used a CDi, not do I have a desire to. The 3DO is actually a pretty sweet console, though. There are dozens of good games on it. The multiplatform games are generally better on the 3DO that the PS1 or Saturn.

Question; other than the GBA, are you into retro gaming; especially 2D? Maybe I'm just getting old... I still consider anything more 3D that Star Fox or Silpheed to be new. :D

Literally dozens? As in more than 24?

I think those terrible consoles go without saying... sure cdi or 3do were terribad, I never played them back then. I have actually only recently played them as a retro collector.

I think it comes down to one needing to play a console before they can determine if they'll actually like it or not. While I've never played a CD-i or 3DO I'm not going to list them as I haven't given them a fair chance yet. Example: two years ago I easily could have said the PSP is my least favorite console and say something crass about inferior PS2 ports. Now, after having played the console it is one of my favorites.

Yeah, I guess knowledge helps. A lot of people who post their full lists don't really seem familiar with pre-NES console gaming, and computer gaming in general.

Ya I love both the psp and ds. I used to not be into handheld gaming at all before.

How so? The only N console I really see much "hate" of is the N64. It's not really hate either, the N64 just truly lacks in content for most people (and in general, you can't really argue that). I see a lot of people who have listed the SNES as one of their favorites so I don't think it's a Nintendo hate bandwagon.

the Dreamcast lacks in content for certain people more than the N64, if only the Dreamcast hadnt died so young, but i dont have much interest in the "popular" games on the Dreamcast.
