A streamed movie will be going to the Wii RAM, not the flash memory or SD card. There are no concerns about multiple writes.AppleQueso wrote:I'm sorry, but that's just a downright silly concern. Buffers for a movie stream might be a few megabytes at most, and that's assuming there's any HDD buffering going on to begin with.CRTGAMER wrote: Look at the size of the Wii internal memory, even with an SD Card the movies go thru the internal memory. Now take into account the size of one movie stream. A lot of rewrites just for the one movie. Now multiply the milage how many movies over a years worth of streaming.

The price increase sucks, but I just can't get all up in a uproar about it. I can understand some people will not want to pay the increase, and thats understandable.
My bill is going to be going to 20, but I have never had a problem with my service so im willing to pay it.
I also think it probably has more to do with the price of doing business going up than with them just trying to stick it to customers.

If I recall correctly, Netflix used to let you buffer the entire film, so you could have buffers of 1+GB. They changed that at least a year or two ago. I don't know the standard buffer size now. From my very limited observation, I'd guess it's somewhere between 20 and 50MB.AppleQueso wrote: I'm sorry, but that's just a downright silly concern. No kidding. A latte or two? I don't buy 2 $5 lattes in a YEAR. Dude forgets that there's a recession on.

I guess you can justify any price with the latte argument.
- It's gonna be $1000 for this pair of Japanese designer jeans.
- What?! Are you crazy?
- That's 200 lattes. I think you can make these cuts.

Fixed.AppleQueso wrote:who, besides girls in college who want to seem more mature than they really are, buys a $5 latte?
To be honest, I had a latte once.
Once.
I think it tastes like a grown up chocolate milk, but I'm all for them if people still have to drink them out of those ridiculous cereal bowl sized cups.

I've never bought a $5 latte in my life, or any latte for that matter. Most I'd ever spend on a coffee would be $2.50 for those cold coffee things they sell in a glass bottle at grocery stores. And even then, only once or twice a year.

What, grownups can't drink chocolate milk? If that's wrong I don't want to be right.Luke wrote: I think it tastes like a grown up chocolate milk
Mostly I agree with you. Good coffee doesn't need any adornments to be delicious. I will however drink an iced thai coffee when I get the chance. Tons of cream, and some extra spices like cardamom to add some flavor. Cold coffee does need a little help.
Wait, I thought we already had a beverage thread.
