I'm still very much enjoying the show and don't understand the complaints. I talked to someone the other day who started watching with the season 1 finale and is enjoying it and judging by what I see on Chris Hardwick's Talking Dead show, other people are too

Dale is an awesome character and Shane is very interesting

Also, kudos to everyone who is discussing the show without spoilers. One of the things that irritates me is how so many people who talk about the show just assume that everyone on the planet has read the books and there couldn't possibly be people who are simply enjoying the show for what it is with no knowledge of the books. I always feel like I have to cover my ears to avoid spoilers. That irritates me to no end. Though given how far off the show has been from the comic based on what some people have told me, I don't know how much those spoilers would matter anyway

Oh, I'm enjoying the show, don't get me wrong. But it could move along just a smidge faster. It just seems a bit unnecessarily stretched out compared to last season.

That's a cliffhanger!

Any bets on who gets the next bullet in the skull? Hopefully not Shane, as although in the comic he's an ass, right now he makes the most sense of anyone. "Um hey, let's not just dump our guns in a tree...There is that barn".

Show keeps being dumb, but still intriguing, and keeps me coming back.

Sophia coming out of the barn was totally unexpected,
even though I tend to be cynical when it comes to television. The mid-season ended on a rather high note.

Anyone makes more sense than Shane. He is irrational and dangerous; they have already shown what he will do when in the presence of his inevitable doom.
Dale knows it well and sees right through him. I think it speaks volumes that Dale is more afraid of what Shane will do to everyone in the camp with a full selection of guns at the ready then the walkers hanging out in the barn a football field away. Should Dale tried to hide the guns? Maybe not, but he is at a loss. Shane is going to end up killing more people and Dale knows it. I half expected him to shoot someone when he turned on the Walkers Hershel and Rick were holding; he was seeing pure red and almost seemed out of his mind.

I don't think Rick had any intention of just having that barn stick around but he was looking for a way to gain Hershel's trust and keep his people there long enough to do something about it. Knowing that on the road they won't survive much longer. He is trying to be a diplomat and a lawful man and not just an angry scared man with a gun.

Shane's a dick. I hope he dies real quick. This is classic Imperialism. Rick and his people came to Hershel's land and forcibly took it over, and Shane is the one who initiated that. Fuck him. Rick said over and over that they are guests there and that this is Hershel's land. I completely agree with him. Rick is a guy I would trust. I wouldn't go anywhere with Shane without keeping an eye over my shoulder, because as Otis can tell you, all Shane needs to do is rationalize in his mind a reason to kill you, and he'll do it. Everything Shane said about them not being safe is complete bullshit. The zombies NEVER got out of the barn until HE LET THEM OUT!

Hershel was treating the zombies like feral animals. People in the real world can tell you that there are ways of controlling wild animals without killing them. I do think he is delusional in thinking that they are still people, but what he was doing was working for them and Shane comes along and says, "Fuck you! We're doing things my way whether you like it or not!"

Shane is a selfish ass, and Andrea is a dumb, bimbo for liking him. She almost killed the most useful guy in their group just to try and show everyone has special she is. Idiot. Daryl's a badass warrior and a great tracker and she nearly offed him for nothing.

I like Dale, he's the sensible, wise one. Daryl's a good guy to have your back in a bad situation, so I like him too. I like Glenn too. He's a good, honest, dependable, kid, though his inability to keep a secret is kind of irritating. I wouldn't tell that kid anything. Lori's a headcase. She's the stereotypical, overly emotional, crazy, chick. If I didn't like Rick so much, I wouldn't mind seeing her whiny, crybaby, ass get killed off. That girl really needs to get a grip. She's faaaar too weak and really needs to find some inner strength or this post-apocalyptic world is going to chew her up and spit her out

Anyway, the last two episodes were great. I love this series....even though Shane's a dick

EDIT: and why didn't Sophia stay put like Rick had told her too? Stupid kids. She ran off and become a snack for some zombie
