Really?

It had a slow launch, but so did the DS. The 3ds picked up steam alot faster than the DS did though - with titles like OOT leading the way.

Yup. I remember the kind folks at Gamestop more or less laughing at me when I picked up my DS phat pre-order. Who's laughing now?! :twisted:

Yeah.....it always amazes me how little the people in the retail sector seem to care for keepings their jobs....even during an economic crisis.

And I think the 3DS should better be compared to the DS Lite. Of course I want the 3DS to succeed. If it hadn't been such a dud before the price cut, Capcom MAY have not canceled MML3 :( :( :(

Given the growing criticism they are getting for their betrayal of the MML3 project, plus the success the 3DS will soon begin to garner, (mark my words,) I'm almost positive Capcom will renew interest in the game...

Seriously (because I am alittle giddy at the momeny), GX moves really freaking fast. Take a snapshot of the thing. Like the original FZero, still-shots aren't as impressive as video of your machine rocketing past 500 kph.

Retro, cel-shaded, and horribly bloody, but not primitive or blocky or blurry or dull. (Maybe blocky, flat, and tiny... but retro is block, cel-shaded is flat, and dear gods how can you fingers stand Meat Boy)

I think Shenmue 3 is almost impossible to happen, cause the games cost too much to make, and hardly made any of it back.

MML on the other hand was successful enough to warrant 2 sequels on the PS1, and I'm pretty sure that a 3DS game would be cheap compared to releasing it on any other platform, so it would have made sense money wise.....if Capcom weren't dicks.

Not meaning to go too off topic, but I think in terms of the cost of making the Shenmue games, I think the majority of the cost (that 70 odd million US dollars that was often quoted for the first game for example) actually covered most of the research and other stuff, that can be attributed as a cost for both Shenmue 1 and 2 and potentially further installments. Imo, Shenmue 3 wouldn't cost that much as far as video games go these days and possibly some money has already gone into it. That said, I agree that the game probably wouldn't sell all that regardless of the amount of fans crying for it.

For me, I love both Shenmue games and wanted so badly for them to finish the saga, however, now it feels all a bit late for that. The game should have been released on Dreamcast years ago with inferior technology :P

This. I think the costs of making a "filled with life" city in the HD age will be too great.
