I'd rather read through everyone debating about possible specs and the price point.

Or how about games. Do we have any info about possible games? Wishful launch lineups? Anything?

Personally, I haven't a clue, other than I suspect we will have something Mario related within the release window.

I concur.

Eh, admittedly the anti-Nintendo trolls do always come out of the woodwork, but some comments I have seen (found from comments on news articles and in non-gaming related forums - i.e. What the 'casuals' are saying):
new box, same old games....
Much like anything Nintendo, not my cup of tea. I think the portability could be a nice feature, but what annoys me is that they're treating the thing you interact the most with, when it comes to consoles and gaming in general, the controller, as a gimmick again. This video shows like 5 different ways to play on it. You can play with the side controllers attached to some brick that turns it into something similar to a normal gamepad, you can play with the side controllers attached to the console itself, you can detach and use the side controllers as two mini controllers (which looks like it would be uncomfortable as fuck), you can use a normal gamepad with the console, regardless if it's docked or not. I bet $5 they'll also introduce some legacy motion controllers for older Wii games. And I have a feeling portability will leave them a generation behind, yet again.
Utterly disappointed although not that surprising. I was hoping Nintendo were going to come strong with a new console. What they gave us is essentially the Wii U 2.
They haven't learned their lesson yet.
This new console screams Wii U 2.0.
It's probably going to be expensive and less powerful than a current generation console (I'm not even talking about PS4 Pro and Xbox Scorpio).

How about making a powerful console without any gimmick for once ? People just want to play Nintendo games with up to date graphics, that's all.
Skyrim is 4 years old now at least! Surely saying you can play that now on Nintendo is absolutely pointless
Gotta say that I wasn't interested in a Nintendo console since the N64. And Switch doesn't change that.
Unless they get Cod, fifa etc, it's gonna fail. People arent gonna buy a console that doesn't features these, without them, it's a niche console.
Zzzzzzz Nintendo are boring, may entertain the kids and mummies out there though
A less powerful console without best sellers. Sounds like a bad business idea.

Your gonna get the Mario market. But you need more than that.
New Mario and Metroid games are fun and all, but the system needs more of a splash from other avenues.
I don't know what they could put in there to make it on par with the current gen, but they definitely need to have it, because if porting is too complicated, I see many of these launch third party publishers cutting costs and not porting future titles if it means too much work.
Oh look, more Mario. Theres a shock ffs.
Personally, I have no need or want for a tablet that plays Nintendo properties, and I'd imagine a lot of casual gamers are the same.
Fifa, any sign of Fifa???
Why do they always make them look so ugly.

I agree with that entirely. Nintendo in past leadership morphed from if we go the IP go with us, to still being that way well into when Iwata was dying. And in his later moments they got into mobile and how it was the future. The new lead is a businessman but also wants to honor tradition too as does the board. They would never be Sony or especially MS's bitch. Clearly they have a very strong interest and stake growing in Android and iOS where they still can mold their own experiences. If need be on both formats they could even still peddle their own controllers to link in with bluetooth so they can get quirky safely still. If the Switch somehow bombed and they called it a day, fuck those idiots saying what they do about going elsewhere as it will not happen. They will stick with it in the market they have moved into, android and ios and be just fine with far less overhead not managing console and handheld boxes while still capable of making unique experiences even if they had to make their own controllers to sync to devices. Thats how I see it at least as a worst case scenario as they kind of are just too big to fail thanks to many IP but greatly due to their huge cash cow that wont die Pokemon.

Six months ago I would have agreed but they went and did that Pokemon puzzle game then followed it up with Pokemon go and the upcoming Mario title with Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem of some sorts to follow. Android and ios, both have varying hardware to account for, especially Android.

I'll give you my top 10 maybe-realistic-maybe-not wishlist for launch titles (or at least "launch window") some of which we know or STRONGLY suspect we're going to get.

1. Skyrim
2. Fallout 4
3. New 3D Mario
4. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
5. Pikmin 4 (haven't played the first three but still want to see it)
6. Final Fantasy XV
7. Eternal Darkness 2
8. Enhanced Mario Kart 8 port
9. Enhanced Splatoon port
10. Resident Evil 7

That's a terrible list. Where's the new Metroid entry?

I figured it's still a ways off with Federation Force having released so recently.

About the only game that would make the Switch a day one buy for me is Half Life 3. Even better how about another Orange Box with Halflife 3, Portal 3, and Left 4 Dead 3  .
