I honestly can't wait, emulators on the ol' XBox are prepped to go!

And yeah, a shirt would be cool.

I love it how you discussed emulator syndrome in the opening post. I couldn't agree more! There are so many games at our fingertips these days, that it makes the attention span even shorter than it used to be.

I actually never owned a Genesis or a Super Nintendo, so it'll be interesting to actually be introduced to these games slowly.

I'm looking forward to it!

Sounds like a fantastic idea. I'm in. My vote would be to look at games for systems no older than the NES and no newer than the Dreamcast. Maybe even setup groups for each generation or console if other people's interests lie in tighter windows than mine.

I agree for the most part. But like I mentioned in the main post, I would like to start out with something like Pong or Asteroids and possibly have some other important pioneers peppered in here and there. But I would say that the bulk of the games we will cover would be in that NES-though-Dreamcast era

Well, that's kinda what the rest of the forum is for. But if this really takes off, perhaps we can take it to the next level. But for now, lets take it one step at a time.

Well, this is a great time for me to get around to soft modding my Xbox. I used to love emu but got sick of playing at the comp so I will get the box ready for bear before we get started.

Oh, cool. I love this idea! My retro game collection, both emulated and brick-and-mortar, has exploded in the past year. I've been feeling kinda overwhelmed so it will be good to have some focus. I had many dark, non-gaming years between the NES and Gamecube. I look forward to checking out more of the stuff I missed.

And look at that- After months of lurking, I finally posted!

I'm in. This is a great idea. I need some focus in my gaming habits. Maybe now I'll actually put more than five minutes into Earthbound. (I know -- I deserve to be berated for this....)

I haven't been participating in the discussion at all (really tiny free time available lately), but I imagined it would be as you eventually described it in the article.

I'm in at least for the time being. Hopefully when it actually starts I'll have enough time (and hardware) to participate earnestly.

Ivo.

Racketboy,
What a great idea! I've been away from the message boards, but count me in! I too am stricken with Rom overload and don't give many games the time they deserve.

This project comes at a great time, with the summer just around the corner. If we focus on the NES to Dreamcast era, that means Sega Saturn is in the mix! I've been itching to play some Guardian Heros and Dragon Force. Panzar Dragoon Saga is one of my all time favorite games, but I haven't played that since I finished it back in '98. I wonder if it still holds up well today.

Keep us posted and let us know what the first game in the list is!
I'm so excited! Time to go mod my original xbox!

Cheers!
