That's understandable but it has nothing to do with region locking. Hunting and discovering region exclusive games can and does exist regardless of whether or not the console is region locked.mjmjr25 wrote:Like I said, I enjoy the hunt, the discovery

It wasn't a spelling error, it was a grammatical error. And yes, I'm mad that the second anyone makes such an error there's always that one scumbag that has to point it out. He knew what I meant; the sentence wasn't unintelligible. As for you, General Norris, take your "U Mad Bro" highschool shenanigans and kindly shove them up your ass.

"Scumbag"? Pretty uncalled for. Maybe it was a dick move, but I really doubt he was meaning to offend you to that extent.

Sure it does. If Super Tempo, or Tryrush Deppy, as examples, had been region free from the get go - there would have been more copies of them sold originally. There would have been more copies of them in the states prior to my getting into the hobby, thus I would have never "discovered" these gems, as they would have been much more mainstream. My experience in the hobby is bettered because of this.brunoafh wrote:That's understandable but it has nothing to do with region locking. Look at Ketsui vs. Eschatos on 360. Ketsui is by most counts the superior game, by a major developer, but is region locked. Eschatos is a decent game, but being region free, has outsold Ketsui. I like that. It makes the hobby more interesting and in cases of region locked games, makes them more collectible and a greater sense of ownership can be had. I certainly understand this isn't a majority opinion, but again, the point is to suggest that not every single person dislikes region locking. Hopefully my purspectiv provides addishional incite.

I'm sorry Mike, but you're on crack. You should hire a food taster to make sure that isn't getting in your diet. Lack of region protection on the Game Boy and Game Gear systems didn't magically prevent differences in different areas of the world. The PC doesn't have any region protection and different things are released and sell differently around the world.

It's not uncalled for, at all. By definition that was characteristic of a scumbag.
But to be honest if you want to attach preconceived notions of being dirty and subhuman to that definition, be my guest. If you don't want opposition, don't oppose people. Simple as that.scum·bag

We should throw The Rev, Retrodude, and Retronomy into an internet forum deathmatch and watch the fallout.
