Conversely, if you are doing a compilation of a series, you would either have to release it on every system from each company it was ever on, or it would get into some serious legal issues [imagine trying to release a compilation of Treasure games on one console. Yeah, chaos would ensue.]
Treasure owns the rights to most all its video games this would not present much of a problem. There is a Treasure compilation disc on the PS2 already that includes Gunstar Heros, Dynamite Heady and Alien Soldier. Their biggest hurdle would be Sin and Punishment 2 but I wasn't including that one. You do know Perfect Dark is on XBLA and Nintendo didn't get a dime, unless you know something I don't.
If it was as difficult as you imply then I don't think we would have as many compilations as we arleady do. Plus this is a hypothetical question I am not going to limit my designs nor should anyone else to just reality, whats the fun in that? You can dream of Tales of and I can dream of what I dream up, tales would be cool to though.

I would also like capcom beat'em'ups, but I listed Konami because a lot of their games have never left arcades plus at least capcom has some decent compilations of arcade games. The best konami compilation to me is the DS one but that leaves a lot to be desired.
