Why not on the Wii?

I just want more arcade compilations, I don't like to emulate on computers so its the only way I can play arcade games other than trying to find an arcade.

Konami Arcade Beat'em'ups. It would Include TMNT, Simpsons and X-men. Either way I want an arcade Konami compilation the DS, GBA and the tiny xbox 360 ones are not enough and missing to many games.

A complete Treasure compilation would be nice, I hope it would include JP only games too.

The Super Mario advance games for the DS would be cool. They could call it Super Mario All-Stars DS.

Bonk Compilation, Handheld, Turbo and SNES games.

Dude, I totally brainfarted. I guess since I don't have a Wii I never think about the Wii. I guess what I said was kind of stupid since a SNES compilation of 1st party titles wouldn't appear on any other system but the Wii and they wouldn't do that anyway because they can make more money selling them individually on the VC.

Please excuse my comment!

That would be a brilliant idea for a lot of series that don't normally get localized. Having it in a collection makes it apparent to the uninformed consumer that these games were a phenomenon in Japan and now you can get them all at once. They would sell better as a collection of many than they would as individual releases. It might end up being worth the investment for localization.

You and I are thinking alike here, though I actually thought of a Capcom Arcade Beat'em up collection rather than Konami, but I'd take either

How bout an Oddworld Collection? All the way up to Stranger's Wrath(even though I was a bit let down by that one). Or a Disney themed collection of Capcom games. That would be sweeeet!!!

The problem with compilations is that if it is for a system, then you need consent of all the developers, and the royalties for including the games would be ridiculous. Conversely, if you are doing a compilation of a series, you would either have to release it on every system from each company it was ever on, or it would get into some serious legal issues [imagine trying to release a compilation of Treasure games on one console. Yeah, chaos would ensue.]

Treasure owns the rights to most all its video games this would not present much of a problem. There is a Treasure compilation disc on the PS2 already that includes Gunstar Heros, Dynamite Heady and Alien Soldier. Their biggest hurdle would be Sin and Punishment 2 but I wasn't including that one. You do know Perfect Dark is on XBLA and Nintendo didn't get a dime, unless you know something I don't.

If it was as difficult as you imply then I don't think we would have as many compilations as we arleady do. Plus this is a hypothetical question I am not going to limit my designs nor should anyone else to just reality, whats the fun in that? You can dream of Tales of and I can dream of what I dream up, tales would be cool to though.

@gamerforlife
I would also like capcom beat'em'ups, but I listed Konami because a lot of their games have never left arcades plus at least capcom has some decent compilations of arcade games. The best konami compilation to me is the DS one but that leaves a lot to be desired.
