^I would say that there's no reason anymore to play Simcity 2000 with the new versions, I have played ann Simcity games since the first one and IV seems a much better game to me than 2000. Also the music rocks.
And I pretty much prefer Civ IV to Civ II, Civ II was better than III but IV is better than those two, IMHO.Why do you prefer II?
Given that everyone should play Alpha Centaury you already ave a Civ II game so why play two?
Mr Pop, how hard are those sections? I get annoyed pretty easily.

I would say, in Civ II's favor, it doesn't take much to run it. When I worked tech support, we had two computes from around 2000 and a laptop, so Civ II was the game of choice. It's fun, easy on the computer, and easy on the eyes. Civ IV might have improved upon it(most folks I know who play the series say II and IV are the best), but we couldn't run it. We did get Civ III to work, but...it just wasn't as much fun.

I play SimCity 2000 because I think it's a very fun, entertaining classic. And I hate SimCity 4.
And the reason I mentioned Civilization 2 is because the topic title was "
Old School PC games still worth playing?"
Civilization 4 is not "old school". And just because it's old doesn't mean it's not worth playing anymore.
One more thing I disagree with you on: Civ 2 is NOT better than Civ 3, in fact Civ 3 is my favorite game in the series. (As long as it's coupled with its' two expansion packs.) IMO: Civ 3>Civ 4> Civ 2. (I've never played Civ 1 so I didn't rank it.)

I'm always torn between Civ 2 and Civ 3. Civ 2 let you get some rediculous bonuses from wonders that could quickly propel yourself above your neighbors. But Civ 3 had the culture system which always intruiged me. Plus, I like having a real border that you can see as opposed to the Civ 2 system of finding out from an envoy that your army was in their land.
Oh, and Civ 2 had the best advisors.

Definitely. I wish they had kept them in Civ 3 and 4. Civ 4 had the worst advisers, they were almost nonexistent.
