Holy crap, you just made like 80 of us feel really old when we really shouldn't. When I was 7 it was the 80's and the 16-bit era wasn't starting until the following year when I'd get my Sega Genesis on my 8th bday.

It's cool knowing that there are guys out there who weren't even around when retro systems were big, and yet they still love and play them!

... and I did not get my first NES until 8th grade. The genesis came when I was in High School. I got my genesis my junior year.

I thought your name meant you were born in '77 like me...oh well, it doesn't matter...gamers are gamers no matter what.

Wow! I must be old. My kids are far closer in age to you than I am. (You've got 6 years on them, but I've got 20 on you!) A love of games is the great equalizer, I guess.

Erm, I dunno. It's not from the Animé/Manga Appleseed as I've hardly even seen the Manga let alone a fan. It's more from the fact I eat a green apple every day and in doing so it reminds me of the kids I went to junior school with, who said if you swallow the seeds of an apple a tree grows in your belly. But with a '4' because the one with the 'A 'was taken on gmail.. haha.

Flak Beard wrote:My friend's brother tried to grow a beard once, but it grew it patches and looked awkward and he refused to shave it. We used to always to say he got hit by a hair grenade and that he had beard shrapnel in his face. I then decided to start using Flak Beard as my user name.

I couldn't imagine where your name came from; I thought it was somewhat random, but now I see it is completely reasonable!

Thats really funny! I've always been a fan of laughing at people with patchy beards, cause thats how I roll too! I still let the little guy keep trying.

I used to have a friend who kept trying to grow a mustache, and it always looked like an 7th grade cholo stash. Mind you this guy was 24 when this was going on....

I'm a big history buff and considering going back to college to become a History Professor so the first part of my name is for Pompey the Great a great military leader during the latter days of the Roman Republic. He was an ally of Caesar's for a long time, the two finally ended up fighting in a Civil War for control of Rome, which we all of course know Caesar won. I admire Pompey a great deal as he rose from obscurity to become a great man.

The second part of the name Parsons is for the beautiful actress Karyn Parsons. Best known for her portrayal of Hillary Banks on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

My user name is named after a Strapping Young Lad song with the same name. I dunno, something about that song when the singer Devin Townsend just shouts it on top of his lungs, it just sounds Intense and badass at the same time.
