Wii supports component cables, and they can be had fairly cheaply. Highly recommended.

The only cable there that you wouldn't have to deal with on any other console is the one for the sensor bar, and there are wireless replacements for that too.

there's also a third party support for Wii HDMI: http://www.hdmikey.com/

not sure about the quality, but it is out there..

That isn't real HDMI. Its still upconversion. The same thing your TV or receiver does. The question is, does that product upconvert better, and is said upconversion worth the cost?

Here's a picture of the WiiU's rear, clearly there's an HDMI port.

i never said it was a real HDMI. if you click on the link it says exactly what it is. just another third party trying to support HDMI for the Wii..

More accurately, HDMI Key is real HDMI, but it doesn't provide real 720i/p or 1080i/p. Even if the upscaling is poor, it could be useful for someone who wants to use an HDMI capable computer monitor, or who just finds component cables obnoxious.

Nintendo said that for CES, they won't show anything new besides what has been seen from E3 2011. They are going to spill the beans on E3 2012.

Makes sense. CES has become less and less about video games.

CES never should have had a video game focus, in my opinion.

I was thinking: Will the Wii U suffer the same in-betweener fate that the Dreamcast did?

When Dreamcast first hit, it was freaking HUGE! Everyone wanted one, and they were selling out left and right. It was bigger and badder than any other console on the market at the time, easily. But as we all know, PS2 came along not too long afterwards, and Dreamcast sales plummeted.

Will the Wii U have this same problem, you think?
