I'm trying to stay away so the reason I'm going to be buying a Wii U doesn't get spoiled to me

Yeah don't worry. Just know that things look great!

The original was SUCH a huge surprise to me, because I wasn't following it at all, and it ended up being one of my favorite JRPGs of all time....and that was on the Wii, can't wait to see the amazing environments and boss battles they make on the Wii U :D

Xenoblade X looks like an improvement in every way. Xenoblade was one of my favorites as well, but the combat was a little thin and to me was only kept interesting because I started switching up the characters. The combat and mecha in Xenoblade X look a lot better. It's gonna be awesome.

He's...good? No, at best I'd use Melia for her dots.

Eventually you get weapons that can hurt mechon, you also aren't always fighting mechon. Plus magic and certain abilities hurt mechon.

Since I haven't played Xenoblade at all, the only thing I can think of is, "GUIZ! REMEMBER THE PART WHERE SHULK SAID HE WAS REALLY FEELING IT?!" and then regretting saying that, because it's probably not even in the game. lol
This user really likes SEGA Saturn. Avoid at all costs.

He probably said it, they threw a lot of cringe worthy phrases during battle.

My party of choice for the roughest boss battles was Melia, Riki and Sharla.

The final character was the best mechon killer though - didn't even need anti-mechon weapons to do full damage.
