I'm worried that they said this console won't support more than 1 WiiU controller. IMO if they can't support more than one, scrap the controller.

They claim they are going mainstream/hardcore. Try to find more than ten (10) mainstream/hardcore titles that offer more than one player online.

Some of the articles I've been reading suggest that Nintendo doesn't want you to have to buy more expensive Wii U control screens (remember the complaints about Crystal Chronicles on the GameCube?), but that developers were discouraged from making their games use more than two. I suspect there are GPU limitations involved as well.

You seem to be being augmentative for no reason.

Meh, the industry said games would become much cheaper once they became disc based. It never happened really. At least not to the extend it should have. Quite frankly, sometimes I wish games were still cartridge based...

They never said cheaper for whom...

I've read that cost issue in a few articles, and I can understand that. I also read one where Miyamoto said that if they were going to support new controllers they ought to just have it support 3DSes wirelessly. That tells me that these controllers would be so costly that you might as well just buy a 3DS that way you get that experience too.

I totally understand the cost argument. But if its that costly, they shouldn't implement it. I honestly think an HD Wii, bundled with both a conventional wireless controller and Wii Remote Plus would have been enough. If this generation has ushered in anything, its choice in control mechanism.

The thing doesn't seem to have its own GPU, so I doubt it's as expensive as a 3DS... I think Miyamoto's point is that if you're going to be paying for another expensive touch screen controller at all, it should be one that you can use besides the rare occasions when you'd want more screens for a Wii U game. Even if it costs less than half of what a 3DS costs, it would be a waste that just sits gathering dust most of the time. The cost of the first controller is more justifiable, since you can do things with it such as play games when the TV is in use for other stuff, etc.

I'm gonna stay optomistic about this. I'm not going to jump on the hype trian like I did with Wii. I was so dissapointed that I never bought one. I was thinking of buying one now though, because I've seen some good games. If this system turns out good I could just go ahead and buy it and pick up Wii games as I go...

my complaint might be too many peripherals or tv/game hookup wires. I hated the original Wii power supply adapter, senor bar long wire, composite instead of hdmi or component.

Wii supports component cables, and they can be had fairly cheaply. Highly recommended.

The only cable there that you wouldn't have to deal with on any other console is the one for the sensor bar, and there are wireless replacements for that too.
