Don't know if I will bother watching this season :P. Show was always to slow for me and the writing has continued to get crazier and crazier as the show has gone on.

yep it was. i'm still wondering if carol was covering for that crazy little girl or something. something is up with her, like the camera focused on her foot in glen's blood and shit.

You mean Maggie?

Carl sure is going through a growth spurt, and his voice is also changing. Speaking of Carl, I watched the show with my wife and a few of our regular friends and any time a character said Carl, we'd sound back "CARL!" and take a drink after a group toast. Juvenile? Yes. Fun? Yes.

We weren't drinking to catch a buzz, it's just become a tradition of ours. Plus the way Rick pronounces "Carl" makes us laugh for some odd reason.

Total speculation (just for fun)...I thought Hershel may had been thinning out the herd while Rick was absent by giving the weaker people in their unit "Tea".

Not sure if Carol is simply out of the picture, or has teamed with the Governor. She obviously didn't put up a fight when she was asked to leave.

Either way, I was blown away by this episode.

No, there was a small pool of blood on the floor and it showed that crazy little girl and she was playing in the blood with her foot. Hershel was attending to glenn

Yeah I thought something might be up with hershel with all the focus on him this episode. Guess he finally got some screen time to add to his highlight reel of picking berries and telling rick stuff about carl.

Could be rick pronounces carl funny cause he's british. Never heard his real voice so I dunno.

"Picking Berries" made me laugh as that's probably how the script read.

Hershel is one of the stronger actors on the show and it's nice to see the writers notice that and let him lead an episode.

You'll notice Rick's "Carl!" next episode if you haven't already. There's sort of a fake southern drawl to it that doesn't fit his "normal" voice.

You know, I'm having a lot fun watching this season because I literally have no idea what's coming. They're not following the comic book at all now, so I can enjoy the show as a completely separate entity. Honestly, some of these people are completely different characters than their comic book counterparts

I think they've got the right balance on this show now. The pacing is good and we get equal parts character development and action. They seem to be playing it safe with character deaths though, but I don't mind as most of the cast members now are pretty interesting

Okay, we know how different it is, you have made this abundantly clear with your posts in the thread. 10/4, over n' out, roger, yes yup, we got it.

Anyway, I do agree with you, I just don't tend to harp on it like I'm trying to brutally slaughter a dead horse with nuclear bombs with razor blades attached to them. I think they made a good decision by deviating. There are lots of parallels and everything is familiar, yet even hardcore fans of the comic are going to be left wondering what's next... and watching to find out.

Ep 5 was really good. Big thumbs up.

The only reason I mentioned the difference between the show and the comic again is because I think in previous seasons there was always a few things you knew were from the books, but this season it literally all feels new.

I wasn't trying to beat a dead horse, but yeah episode 5 was really good. It's actually kind of funny because on one of my favorite TWD podcasts they were high on the first few episodes, then hated episode 4 and believed that the show was going back to sucking again...then they saw episode 5 and they're singing the show's praises again.
