Not one, but TWO shitty animes:

Its only an OVA, but it is a bizarre followup to FFV only released on VHS outside of Japan.

I didn't think the Legend of the Crystals was that bad. Looking back now considering how much they've screwed with how FF is supposed to be they kind of fit in better than ever. :D

The previous post, I love that space race movie, saw it a long time ago dubbed and the production values, story and the rest were just amazing. I totally forgot about it until that picture popped up.

They brought over the OVA to the 1 16-bit FF game that didn't get released in the west?

God, why have I seen every episode of Final Fantasy Unlimited?

The end credits were the best part. Exploding 8-bit chocobos. I just don't understand.

If you like Diablo, then Record of Lodoss War for Dreamcast may be your speed. I don't like loot grinders, but it felt like a competent one from what I played.
I also played through Magic Knight Rayearth on the Super Famicom. It's easy mode as far as JRPGs are concerned, but it was serviceable. I liked the characters and have more interest in trying the Saturn game as a result, despite not having ever watched the anime.

The Record of Lodoss War action RPG on Dreamcast is also a lot of fun! At least I got a kick out of it when I played through it. I would recommend it to folks for a Dreamcast RPG option.

I would highly recommend the fighting games New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Endless Duel, Gundam Battle Assault, and Gundam Battle Assault 2. They're all 2D fighters, but they're all a heck of a lot of fun to play. In terms of gameplay, I like them as much as Cyberbots, and I absolutely love Cyberbots. Endless Duel is the greatest Super Famicom fighter that never made it to the US.

Also, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Because WRYYYYYYYYYY, that's why.

I feel for you

Personally I was waiting for the episode which would have a single extra reference. It's just so....random.

I have this series, ff unlimited.

It's okay.

It would have been an average, forgettable anime. But someone slapped final fantasy on it thinking it will sell more or get more attention.

It obviously backfired. Fans want pedigree and this anime cant deliver that.

I paid $15 for the series a few years back. I was mostly satisfied with it.

It's rare for me to finish a RPG using a computer and emulator but back in the late 90s I took down Sailor Moon Another Story after it was translated and it could stand on its own as a solid RPG if you didn't know the cartoon and books existed.

I'll give a few more thoughts on Super Famicom/Super Nintendo games:

Violinist of Hamlin is a side scrolling platformer for the Super Famicom developed by Daft and published by Enix that is also worth checking out. It's bright, colorful, controls well, and features a fair bit of humor along with its platforming and puzzle solving.

U.N. Squadron, based on the Area 88 manga, is an amazing shmup for the Super Nintendo which features three pilots, a variety of planes, a bunch of power ups, creative levels and bosses, and the ability to play levels in different orders depending on what you feel like tackling first. It's one of the first shmups I think of when I think of them on the SNES.

Oh, and:

Street Combat

I kid. Street Combat is absolutely terrible. Its is also technically an anime game, since it is a release of Ranma ½: Chōnai Gekitōhen, only with all of the sprites modified and music changed to not be Ranma-related. I consider this to be one of the worst fighting games on the Super Nintendo and recommend you avoid it at all costs. Seriously, it has hideous controls, the new music is awful, the character designs are jaw-droppingly bad, and the combat is dull. This is a great example of how to completely screw up a licensed property even worse than when it was a licensed property. If you really want a Ranma fighting game on the NTSC-U Super Nintendo, go with Ranma ½: Hard Battle, though in truth it is mediocre compared to the rest of the SNES fighting game offerings.

Great example, since I own that game and had no idea it was an anime. It's awesome though.
