Just got to Star World.
Easily my favorite game made in the last few years. Holy guacamole. Every time you think they must be running out of novel ideas and neat things to show you they just keep shoving more in your face. It's like being force-fed at the best all you can eat buffet on the planet. I'm not complaining, it's just amazing to me. Even more so when you consider that this is the first Mario game not being headed by our good friend Miyamoto.

I wish they'd just let Nintendo develop a Sonic game.
Re: Super Mario 3D World
I just picked it up last night and played the first 3 levels. So far I'm loving it. I really liked 3D Land, but to me, it felt short and rushed 'by Nintendo's standards'. 3D World so far feels like more of a complete and polished game. I can't wait to dive into it some more.

Another point to playing on the Game Pad.
After 4 worlds, I only just realised this. You can tap the screen to stun some enemies, to pick up coins (including the 8 Green/Red coins, making those challenges utterly useless), reveal hidden items (rather than blowing or tapping the mic).
Anyone else miss this, or am I just a bit of a div.

Re: Super Mario 3D World
I started on the star world tonight, and to say there is a difficulty jump is a massive understatement. I consider myself pretty good at platformers, but the first 2 levels had me cursing, and wanting to throw the game pad. I think I went through 20 or more lives between those 2 alone, and the worst part is I didnt get all the green stars in each, so I have to go back! The levels after those are still challenging, but nowhere near as hard. In the whole star world I was only able to get all 3 green's and the stamp in 1 level.
I got to the end, and it asked for 210 stars and I only have 207, I thought I had been doing pretty well up until this point collecting stars, I cant imagine there are too many I missed in the previous worlds, but I have to go back now. This whole world has been so stressful, worrying about just making it to the end instead of collecting everything. I am interested to see what comes next.

You're in for a hell of a time once you get to Star-9. Ugh. I had to turn it off.

Re: Super Mario 3D World
figured out that I missed 2 of the bonus stages that have 10 stars each, that was a big help in catching up. Star-9 was so stressful, my wife was holding her breath watching. I was able to beat it without too many tries, I think I died 3 or 4 times. The mushroom world was challenging, but I was able to get more green stars with not too much trouble, and I just started the fireflower world. I am having a lot of fun, but at the same time, I get so worked up, that I have to calm down after I am done playing. The levels are so demanding at this point!

Re: Super Mario 3D World
Seriously. I thought the game was maybe a little on the easy side. The last normal world threw that out and felt super comfortable. Now in these bonus worlds, I'm worried I'm going to die one too many times and chuck my gamepad out the window. It's terrible. Nintendo should know better than to give people such an expensive controller and a game to make them want to break it.
Mushroom World is a bit less evil but you're right, it's super stressful. Especially the hard time limited ones where you start with only 10-30 seconds.

Re: Super Mario 3D World
The timed one where you start with 30 seconds was the worst for me, I kept running out of time on the last star in that stupid room where you have to run over all the squares. I would get the star and hit the pipe with only a couple of seconds left, and miss the next clock.
