Nope. Just a simple install from the D&D Anthology. And I have a pretty old monitor.

Man I've really been wanting to play this for years... maybe now is the time. Howlongtobeat.com has this at 28 hours to beat the main story, would you guys say that's about right? Ideally I'd like to complete extras too, which is listed at almost 50 hours. Sounds like a rather large game.

I'd say that's about right. If you're into sidequests then you should note that many of them become inaccessible for a portion of the game for storyline reasons. Also, if you've played Baldur's Gate before you'll need to get yourself out of the mindset of "hit it with a stick" as your default answer to every problem. It's pretty accurate that you can get through the whole game with little-to-no combat. Which is a good thing, since I feel like the combat in this game is the weakest of the Infinity Engine games.
