There's also the "losing" of the Panzer Dragoon Saga source code. Then you have the actual failure of the Dreamcast which was doing WELL when the plug was pulled.

And a bunch of other things I can't even remember now.
I always wondered if Sega saw the writing on the wall once the PS2 came out and made a back room deal with Microsoft. Cause lets face it, In '99 every one wanted a Dreamcast but 6 months b4 the PS2 came out no one was buying. If you look at the hamburger controller, it used a very similar button configuration and it used memory cards in the same location as vmu's. Looked very different but very much the same. Plus the whole Shenmue 2 thing with it just being on xbox in the US was kinda fishy. Idk just something I always thought about.

They're a company. If they make something good, give them your money. If they make something bad, don't buy it.

There's nothing to "make up" for. They don't owe you anything.

I agree for the most part. I voice my opinion on a game with my wallet and on racketboy forums. Also agree that Sega doesn't owe any one person anything............. But if they wanted to make a general apology to any and all Sega fan's I would accept that..... Matter of fact I will help write it :).

Dear Loyal Sega Fans,
It has only recently came to our attention that we 'may' have made a handful mistakes in the past and would like to fully whole heartily apologize for the following:

- The 32x. Was just a bad idea from the get go with little to no support.
- Not supporting the Sega Cd long enough and leaving owner's of said console in the dark.
- Those fmv game's we came out with in the early 90's. In our defense they seemed cool at the time.
- Shipping the Saturn early causing us to piss off our suppliers.
- Making the Saturn terrible to program for.
- *Bernie Stolar.
- Not bringing a majority of great games out of Japan to the US or Europe plus cutting support on the Saturn too early(*see:Bernie Stolar).
- Losing the code for PDS so that way it can never be ported to any newer systems.
- Teasing everyone with Shinning Force Scenario 1 then never bringing out Scenario 2 & 3 out of Japan.
- The Dreamcast.... JK THAT WAS awesome.
- Not bringing Shenmue 2 over to America on the DC but letting everyone else have it(yeah kinda was a dick move).
- What we did to Sonic, NiGHTS, and Golden Axe, ect, ect, post DC.
- Pissing off Fans by making them take 20 year old game footage down off from youtube.

So yeah that is all that we can think of right now but we hope that you can someday forgive us in your hearts.
Sincerely yours,
SEGA

P.S. We would also like to make a special apology to MulishaSoldier929 for never coming out with a sequel to Comixzone on either the Saturn of Dreamcast. Yes we agree that would have been pretty sweet.

Can't we just all get together and agree that the Atari 5200 was terrible?

Sega has been around since 1940. I think they know more about bussiness than you, as poor as some of their decisions were.

The Dreamcast was doing badly. The consoles themselves had a very strong launch but
they didn't generate any profit because they were loss leaders, like most consoles. They expected to recoup costs but rampant piracy meant games sold poorly and thus the much needed cash flow was greatly reduced.

They in fact held on the console for as long as they could but the moment the PS2 was announced with it's "Toy Story-like" graphics, sales bottomed because everyone held off their money for a bunch of empty promises.

In fact, Isao Okawa, who had been the chariman of the company for many years gave it around 700 million dollars of his own money to keep it afloat in shares, as well as dumping forty more on the Dreamcast and forgiving a huge amount of loans.

So perhaps, when you have tried everything else and you have been losing money for five years straight (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Sega_ ... 3-2004.svg) you decide to cut the hardware dreams and survive instead of going under, firing everyone and killing Sega for good while all the franchises get dispered and probably go down the crapper when Activision gets a hold of them.

And I find it hilarious that people cry and complain about Stolar when the Chariman of Nintendo hadn't played a videogame in his whole life and claimed JRPGs were for defective manchildren who couldn't get out of their basement.
