Nights HD announced
Re: Nights HD announced
For the record, I thought it was ugly then and I am older than you. With a few exceptions, 3D is pretty ugly on the Saturn in general - Nights is not one of the exceptions
Re: Nights HD announced
All 3D games from back then looked like crap. I always thought they should have just tried to refine pixel graphics instead of moving to horrible looking 3D games. What do I know though I hated the Nintendo 64 too.dsheinem wrote:For the record, I thought it was ugly then and I am older than you. I always did think nights was a great looking game though and was never bothered by the graphics at all. Those blue orbs are really nice looking now that I think about it.

And people certainly did care about and notice graphical issues. You can see that by picking up any gaming magazine from the time.dsheinem wrote:For the record, I thought it was ugly then and I am older than you. Games look far from perfect today, and shooters are a completely different genre. Considering the sales of many indie games with very retro inspired graphics, I hardly see how amazing graphics are a requirement for gamers today. Many games these days have more bugs.I just can't believe all the nit-picking. Im just excited that a new generation of gamer's get to play this game and see what really gameing was like without hagveing to have perfect graphics.
I can name a million shooter today that look outstanding and half of them while may not have any bugs somehow still suck ass.
If anything, the lack of limitations lets artists fully realize their visions, sure limitations can inspire some technical feats, but it certainly wont make a bad artist good. Panzer Dragoon and Nights have problems gameplay and graphics wise.
People did in fact know better back then. VooDoo cards were available from late 1996 and arcades were lightyears ahead of consoles at the time. They were as ugly then as now. They were nothing more than serviceable.
It seems like every single one of your posts comes down to Sega being somehow infallible and you dismissing anybody that isn't a blind fanboy of the stuff they made.

I blame the Saturn's use of 4-sided polygons. That wasn't a particularly good idea.dsheinem wrote:For the record, I thought it was ugly then and I am older than you. With a few exceptions, 3D is pretty ugly on the Saturn in general - Nights is not one of the exceptions

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.

Im not talking about magazines im talking about people period and back then people were less whinny then now I don't care how many people disagree or quote me here. During that time it was just nice to be able to play games without going to the arcade. It's one thing to read about things back then and another to have been there.
I can watch as many 70's movies as i like and think i know about that era but really dont know jack shit.
That was my point?I just can't believe all the nit-picking. Im just excited that a new generation of gamer's get to play this game and see what really gameing was like without hagveing to have perfect graphics.

Your in denial cause alot of kids today care a ton about graphics! sadly sometimes more then gameplay I tried to get someone to play marvel vs. capcom 2 and they would not touch it but sure as hell played 3 (which is a great game but that's not the point
No nights into dreams did not have gameplay problems the controls and game-play were amazing i totally disagree with you. also ya it lets artist realize there "visions"
im talking about the players being able to make the game what they want that is more magical then following someone else's vision. Older generation game allowed you to in-vision your own game much more now cause it is not as direct."

This had nothing to do with sega at all. But of couse you would claim that knowing im a sega fan. I actually think that was a low-blow comment. I'll end this topic now after that comment.
I used to like you and your comments but that made me lose respect for you.

cool story bro you tell it at parties?
I was trying to have an healthy good ole disagreement with you cause really i have read your comment's on other pages and enjoyed them. So While i understand you opinion. I thought i can try to get you to see mine and maby we could meet halfway. (arguing on forums never gets anywhere) I could have commented on the fact your 18 and were a baby during this era but I was not gonna disrespect you. So for you to try and dimeen my opinion by reading old comments and making the Sega fanboy comment was quite insulting and rude honestly not to mention Once one person starts everyone else teams up.
But it's ok im quite done with this and i know not to comment further on anything you say

Re: Nights HD announced
same here, and as superficial as it sounds, it's because I thought it looked so ugly. A lot of my hatred for OOT is aesthetic. Honestly, how do you go from something that looks as good as LTTP or Link's Awakening to OOT? That game is horrible looking, and I thought so then. Admittedly, Majora's Mask doesn't look much different, but at least the story is so interesting that it saves it. Ugh. Hate the look of most N64 games. Sorry y'all.flex wood wrote: What do I know though I hated the Nintendo 64 too.
Yes, but admittedly I go to parties where folks aren't up to speed on played-out memes.dreamcast4ever83 wrote: cool story bro you tell it at parties?![]()
