Give it a lil more time. I haven't had this much fun with an RPG in a decade. It's my Chrono Trigger of this generation. :D
I wonder how much of the "Dream Team" is still intact over the years. I'd say a good bit since you can still pick out some similarities between all the Chrono's and Xeno games. As far as I know, I've completely loved every RPG these guys have made. Love how they all have some big sci-fi elements as well.

Can't wait for Monolith-Soft's next hit.
Me too. :D
And when I think about Xenoblade, I can still hear the music. And character phrases. "Man, what a buncha jokers"

I HATED that. The battle banter is one of the worst parts of the game. They keep repeating the same nonsense ad nauseum in every fight, and it's all stuff that sounds ridiculous. I had to play the game in Japanese just because random Japanese gibberish sounds mildly better than hearing the same stupid lines constantly repeated in english. Final Fantasy XIII-2 is far better in this regard. Combat dialog is much more restrained, a line here and there when something cool happens, not a whole party of characters talking over each other, constantly repeating the same nonsense, and doing lots of shouting. Just makes me embarrassed to be playing the game if someone were to walk into the room. To the makers of Xenoblade, sometimes less is more. That actually sums up a lot of my problems with the game, including the fifty billion boring, repetitive side quests

I grew tired of combat after a while. It's not that interesting compared to the combat systems of games like Grandia, FFX or FFXIII/FFXIII-2. I kept waiting for the combat system in Xenoblade to wow me, and it never did. Honestly, Xenoblade is my most overrated title of 2012. In many ways, the game just copies Final Fantasy XII, but nobody wants to admit that, because it's just cool to hate on FF games these days.

I don't hate final fantasy at all! I loved 13-2 also 13 was kinda annoying honestly tho. As for xenoblade I respect your feeling but for me I adore that game. The huge open worlds unlike anything ecer seen on a wii system, the beautiful story, fighting, Just felt like a classic beauftiful game that kept me wanting to know more.

And yes final fantasty has become a semi unpopular kid these day's but I don't now nor ever cared about what anyone thinks. The day I don't play a game cause i here it's bad is the day someone should stomp on my nuts while calling me an ign whore

This dates back to like, Star Ocean on the SNES. I don't see how this is such a huge issue, nothing new and really... not a problem.

Nothing wrong with liking both this and XII. XII has the Gambits when this game could have used it, but this has more interaction with button mashing. Xenoblade actually had characters and a story. More customization in XII, but Xenoblade is by far the better game in my book since it actually kept me interested and invested. I pretty much can't remember anything about XII (got like 50 hours in), but I won't forget Xenoblade.

I agree entirely infact I could not have put it better myself. Im almost ready to start the last story and while it may not be a huge open ending world it looks beautiful and with the creators i dont see how it can go wrong. I so love the special book like box and beautiful artbook.

Im happy we got a special version here in the states. Especially considering with xenoblade all we got was a art book and the pal versions got a huge beautiful box full of goodies.

This.
And I know what you mean; Xenoblade is unforgettable in a good way. I really felt like I was in another world for how deeply it drew me into its world. And this was the first time ever I think, that an English cast was done well.

So why is Xenoblade going for crazy money now?

Is the price becoming artificially inflated? (kind of like FF 7, Earthbound, etc.)
As far as I can tell, there are plenty of copies available.

There aren't. It was a Gamestop/Nintendo exclusive and you can't order it from either place now. No Gamestops in a 100mi radius from me have a new or used one, either.

This is what irixith claims in a different thread:

After the initial run, it was available at Best Buy, Future Shop, Wal-Mart, etc. in Canada and the US.
Now she doesn't post any sources for this (I guess this is supposedly first-hand experience? I'd have to ask her about that.)
