speaking of the FM Towns Marty, I see there's currently a listing on eBay for the Car Marty system. That's a pretty rare item.

Probably nothing, it's just that nobody ever talks about it.GSZX1337 wrote:What was wrong with the FM-Towns Marty?jfrost wrote:I only really feel I'm in an odd forum when I see people defending the experience afforded by the Virtual Boy. Or the FM Towns Marty.
I feel the same way when people here start talking about the PC-FX, saying it awesome, such and such.

I talk about the FM Towns all the time. Do a search for FM Towns and under author put my screen name. PC-FX and the FM Towns are not very justifiable price wise, but I got mine realitivly cheap. Now being a retro fan the marty has tons of great arcade games that for awhile and some still that were best or only on the FM Towns. Try emulating some of the games and you will see there are some that are pretty good on both systems.jfrost wrote:Probably nothing, it's just that nobody ever talks about it.GSZX1337 wrote:What was wrong with the FM-Towns Marty?jfrost wrote:I only really feel I'm in an odd forum when I see people defending the experience afforded by the Virtual Boy. Did you ever get Truxton 2? How is it? Is emulation of the FM-Towns Marty okay enough for me to try Truxton 2 for myself?pepharytheworm wrote: I talk about the FM Towns all the time. This is exactly why I love these forums.TopherMan wrote:Wow.... Just wow....
Thanks to boredom, I've been reading many forum discussions over the past few days. And the more I read... the more I realized.... that this is the most peaceful and mature fourm I've EVER been too...
I swear everytime I THINK a flame war will start, the posters just wind up, understanding that they disagree and leave it at that.
Theres a lack of pretentiousness forum-nerds, here, and I love it!
People here just love video games and want nothing more then to talk to people who share the same love for our electronic life jackets of reality!
Racketboy.com/forum's is the light world version of GameFAQS's dark world.
I'll knock on wood, in hopes of not jinxing this website. But I have to say, I'm glad to be here

It is exactly why I've decided to join and become a poster as well. I've lurked and read here for several months and it is just a great community that simply enjoys the discussion of video games.

I agree. Great mature group of people here on the forums. Love the no fanboyism; that got old over on 1up. Speaking of 1up I need to get a subscription to the new EGM.
Re: RacketBOY as a "Culture"
Actually, the pacing of Racketboy is just nice. It's not as post-heavy as some other places (say the Penny-Arcade forums), and the board as a whole is both tight and mellow.
I actually come from GameFAQs (still at GF)... the place is huge, but diverse. That means there are plenty of social areas to hang back at, but there are also much more infamous hives of scum and villainy as well.TopherMan wrote:Racketboy.com/forum's is the light world version of GameFAQS's dark world.
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.

Re: RacketBOY as a "Culture"
Great topic man. I am also a mostly lurker on these boards but racketboy.com has been my homepage for half a year or so now. The arguments that do get started are mostly good natured. I'd liken it to a hockey fight where both boys have a good go at it then give each other a pat on the shoulder on the way to the box.
Let's keep it goin strong.
