No, this is the first time I have regretted getting rid of my 360. I did get the US Sin and Punishment 2 though. Two quality games catering to shmup gamers released in the same week. A rare occurrence.

I've had the JP version for a few months now (and got DS2 a few weeks ago). The nice thing about DS is that it's probably the most approachable bullet hell I've played. The shots are generally slower and the difficulty scaling and stage selection means that after a bit of practice you can likely get to the last stage consistently (of course, the last stage ramps things up a bit).

My big piece of advice for anyone playing this is to read the manual. The Power Up shot really helps out due to the bullet cancel on activation and end as well as the overall increased damage, so you'll want to know how you can use it more often.

North American release? If so, I am all over it!

**edit** I guess I'm an idiot for not seeing the DEATHSMILES COMING TO US post directly below this one. Ordering it tonight!

Just grabbed it today and I can safely say that the packaging and faceplate are very nice. Now for me to actually buy a 360 to play it on.

That having been said the CD sucks. I don't want an arrange soundtrack, I want the actual soundtrack that I can hear in game.

you bought it without having a 360 yet? I guess that is good incentive.

What? The soundtrack is arranged? Fuck, I hate arranged covers of sequenced game music.

*looks at the PC version of Mega Man X3*

 I'm usually cool with arranged soundtracks that sound close to the original in-game stuff, but the one that Aksys included is one of those arranges that has tracks that sound nothing like the original songs.

I didn't know there was a DS version of Deathsmiles. I used to have Ketsui DS but I sold it. That game was waaay to easy. It felt like it was almost impossible to get hit by a bullet. Bullet hell is def not my favorite when it comes to shmups anyhow, I much prefer the Raiden type games. You really cannot be picky though with the limited releases.

There's not.

Having played Ketsui DS I'm calling bullshit on this one. The whole thing was a boss rush of Ketsui in various forms, and several of those bosses were nasty as hell.

I don't know how I got that confused.

Call BS all you want. I found it to be lacking. I thought it would be hard to play the game on such a small screen but when I got it you realize that your hitbox is probably one pixel in size.
