What if the screen is only 2.7 inchesnoiseredux wrote:My point was simply that playing something like Garou via VGA w/ really nice speakers cranked up loud and an arcade stick is going to offer you a pretty different experience than playing a fighting game on NGPC isn't it? And sometimes you're in the mood for one experience over the other.

Ballz 3D is better than Virtua Fighter
Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi is better than Virtua Fighter
Pit Fighter is better than...
OK, not even I can bring myself to say that one.

I don't for a second think that handheld games aren't 'real' games or any such thing. All I was saying was that the experience offered is different between the NGPC game and the DC game. I didn't say better/worse. I said different. And that my mood would dictate which I'd prefer. I'm not really sure why I'm having a hard time getting my point across here, or why my point is being missed. But I'm not really sure how to explain it any more clearly.alienjesus wrote: I don't think this makes it unfair to compare the games though. They're still two games in the same genre, there are still many elements between the two that can compared and contrasted. I don't like the mentaility of handheld games as being so different to console gaming that the two aren't comparable, even if you're someone who likes both and doesn't characterise one or another as inferior. It seems to perpetuate this weird idea some people have that handheld games aren't 'real' games likes home console or PC ones.
that part was troll-ish. But I do actually love Fighters Megamix which is basically Virtua Fighter 2 Vs. Fighting Vipers. That game is amazingly ridiculous. So over-the-top. I mean, you can fight against the car from Daytona USA. That's just badass.BogusMeatFactory wrote: although I am curious to know your view on that.

Not to break up the discussion of what kind of art we like to look at while touching our buttons in different ways, but I have an on-topic post:
1. Dead Pixels (PC) - Run n' Gun w/ RPG Elements
2. Magical Drop V (PC) - Puzzle
3. Reaching Out (Android) - Visual Novel
4. Nanolife (Android) - Visual Novel
5. Darius Burst (PSP) - Shmup
6. Ridge Racer 2 (PSP) - Racing
