Seriously though, I like fedoras. Not the trilby some people wear nowadays, such as the one in that picture, but actual fedoras predominantly worn by men up into the 1960s as a part of men's normal fashion wear (though if a man so desired, Homburgs, Boaters, Ascot caps, Bowlers, Newsboy caps, even a Pork pie hat all work). And bring back top hats for grand formal occasions!

What's formal enough for the top hat? Certainly not Vaudeville, but perhaps opera? Out to dine? Dinner at home?

Never wear a top hat to an event that requires sitting in front of someone, or when sitting indoors (unless you are playing Monopoly).
