Two Player Pocky & Rocky.
Image
(I was too busy playing to get a picture of her actually playing with me)

My daughter (2½yo) and I played some Pocky and Rocky this afternoon. We managed to complete the first stage on easy mode, but the monkeys on the second stage made her rage quit.

After letting out a huge angry sigh, she stated "that was fun". I asked her if she wanted to keep going and she looked me right in the eyes and said "No dad. Monkeys."

I don't think she likes monkeys anymore...

Good. The earlier a person learns that monkeys are assholes the better.

I used to play this one at our local Baseball Card shop when I was younger. Checked prices on ebay... NOPE!

May have one of my Japanese friends hunt down a Super Famicom version for me. Doesn't seem quite as expensive as the SNES version.

Until then... Emulation on two separate PSPs works fine.

What is fun is fun. My 11 year old brother-in-law is very proud of his retro moniker (although he did get some thick rimmed glasses...worried about his hipster levels!). The kid himself went searching for deals and scrounged up an N64 with the Atomic Orange controller and a handful of AAA titles for $15 and lost his mind with joy.

He also has a WiiU which he plays religiously, but he has no qualms with playing old games, as long as they are GOOD old games. He isn't going to waste his time with his copy of Madden on the N64, but he will spend his time with Star Fox 64, Mario Tennis, Pokemon Stadium, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie etc.

I am hooking him up with Morrowind. He is getting old enough to start the journey into the Elder Scrolls games and will be putting pictures up soon I hope!

Nope, it is and will always be cheesy and bad. Kid me thought it was awesome for a few episodes then thought it was really cheesy once I really started to notice the no moving mouths while in costume
