Are there any games that you have played for over 200 hours?

I'm kinda ashamed to admit it, but my most played games are likely NCAA '05 and Madden '05. I used to really be into football when I was younger and played these games religiously. I'm sure I've put hundreds of hours into each of them. I just had a lot of fun customizing the players and teams and enjoyed managing my team during the season.

What is there to be ashamed of playing sports games?

It's usually only embarrassing (certainly not shameful) if you otherwise hate the sport but love the game.

Do the games in your 200+ hour list match what you would put in an all-time top 10 favorites list?

For me, I think Street Fighter II would be in a top 10 list, but there are games I have put disportionate hours into compared to how much I actually like the game.

I feel this way. I mostly hate sports in real life, both as an observer and as a participant, but I have played a lot of Tecmo Bowl, Wayne Gretsky Hockey (N64), Baseball Stars, Bases Loaded, Pro Action Football, NES Golf, NBA Jam etc. These are great video games, even though I don't really care about the subject matter.

These FFXII times are insane. I'm pumped for the International HD release, but I'm not sure I'm ready for 100+ hours. Were you guys doing all the side content or something?

My 180 hour playthrough was a complete run, downing all the superbosses and such. The main story is probably closer to 40-50 hrs iirc

I think it's really hard to know how much time I have spent on games unless it has a counter in the game. I don't think I've spent 200 hours on many, if any, games though... Games that would probably come close are:

Shenmue - I've replayed and completed it at least a dozen times, so based on how long it should take to complete (and I never rush my playthroughs of it), I can guess I have probably nearly reached the 200 hour mark.

TimeSplitters 2 - My friends and I loved this game when it came out. We played it for hours every weekend for months after it came out. I reckon I probably put it about 100 hours.

Soul Calibur - The original Soul Calibur is one of my favourite fighting games of all time. I think the last time I played it, the counter said I'd put about 70 hours into it.

Star Wars: Battlefront (EA) - I'm at about 65 hours I think on the new Battlefront. It's not anywhere near 200 hours, but it's the probably the closest any modern game will get to it, unless I get engrossed in a new RPG (or the new Zelda). Not bad, considering the amount of bitching aimed at this reboot on the internet.

Other games that probably come close:

- Zelda: OoT
- FF7
- Grandia II
- Skies of Arcadia
Own: Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation 1, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PS Vita, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Wii U, Game Boy Advance, DS, 3DS, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox, Xbox 360

^ Skies of Arcadia - I keep seeing this in some people's ultimate games list, but it shows up few and far between. Not having my own Dreamcast until way after my youth I never really played any DC RPGs. After I got one, I never really played any of the longer games as it was at the same time as my PS2, Xbox, and PC were simultaneously vying for my attention.
Not wanting to go off topic too much, but was the time well spent compared to Final Fantasy 9, Final Fantasy 12, or Persona 3 (the current 3 that if I was going to jump back into an RPG - those would be tough to not choose)?
