Speaking of Batman and Robin for the SNES, I was a bit disappointed with what I have played of it so far. I got a killer price on it (basically 1/2 off eBay) and I was really excited to get it because of all the great things people say about it, but it just didn't grab me like I though. I played about 30-minutes of it, which is usually enough time for me to gauge whether I will like an older game, and it just didn't do much for me. The visuals are good, but the controls seem a bit clunky at times. I'll give it another go. Hopefully it hooks me a second time because I really want to like the game.Ack wrote:The earliest games she appeared in are actually The Adventures of Batman and Robin for SNES, Genesis, and Sega CD. Each version is different, so she only appears as a cameo in the SNES one but is a boss in the Genesis one.TEKTORO wrote:Hey can anyone let me know which games have Harely Quinn in it and if you can please explain to what extent such as cameo, playable character, plot based, etc.

so seriously, anyone play Lego Avengers yet? It's on sale right now, and I'm curious. On one hand I'm getting kind of sick of Lego games, on the other this looks like it has a crazy cast. So I guess it depends how good the story is.

Im thinking about pre ordering the PS3 version since with Prime it would only be $24 for the whole season - and ep1 is on a disc.noiseredux wrote:ep1 of the Batman Telltale game is coming out in September!!

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2 were surprise released on Steam. Apparently they were super buggy at launch, but patches have been released. Anyway, I'm curious what these games play like. And is one (much) better than the other?
Re: DC, Marvel & comic book video games: The Thread!
Never touched a comic book in my life and never know where to start... but i know a few videogames based upon them.
The Amazing spiderman is set after the reboot movie continuing after the incident with the Lizard. Not the best game out there but swinging around the city with the orchestral music in the background just feels fun and fluid... yeah the web goes to he ceiling and you only swing with one button and most of the game is kinda auto mode but is still fun. Amazing spiderman 2 is a bit better in some stuff but worse in others, didn't get into it.
Captain America Super Soldier (PS3, 360 version) is a decent game too, framerate is kinda awful and the exploration gets boring really quick but the combat is a more basic arkham asylum and it very satisfying to smash enemies with the shield, or to toss the shield and see how it hits 3+ enemies and then magnetically comes back to your back.
There's also a Punisher arcade game that i played all the time at the mall when i was a kid. It's awesome you can play coop and player 2 is Nick Fury. You can grab people and do a spining attack with them like they're weapons. Game was ported to Genesis with some major cuts on graphics as expected.
Also played that Wolverine origins game and was fun for what it was. Got a bit stale and repetitive at the end but still decent fun game.

A friend of mine played these on PS2 back when they were new. I tried to get into them. I really should enjoy these games because I love marvel comics, and they are pure fan service. I just couldn't enjoy them.noiseredux wrote:Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2 were surprise released on Steam. Apparently they were super buggy at launch, but patches have been released. I found the gameplay bland, boring, and repetitive. Ultimate Alliance tries to merge beat 'em up gameplay with Diablo~esque RPG elements, but doesn't do a particularly good job in either genre.
Ultimate Alliance strikes me as a collect-a-thon series that covers up its mediocre gameplay with ten thousand and one unlockable costumes. Want to make Captain America look like USA Patriot for some reason? You could do that here. Ever wanted to make Storm wear her 1980s Mohawk again? That's probably a thing in one of these Ultimate Alliance games. Remember that time in the 1970s when Spider-Man had webbing in his armpits? That's surely an unlockable costume. Nick Fury comes in both white guy and Samuel L. Jackson versions.
Yawn. What was I saying?
...Oh yeah, Marvel Ultimate Alliance is pretty dull unless you're deeply interested in seeing the same character models get re-skinned over and over again.
